PPS: Update, 5-25-15; I have had the Dunlop Elite 3 on for afew months; everything feels as good as the Avon.

Only issues: the Dunlop does not fit as closely on the Big Dog wheel sidewall as the Avon; Dunlop leaves about a 3/32 gap between tire and wheel at sidewall.
The Dunlop is slightly wider and taller; had to shave the sidewall
1/32 on each side. It does "rub" on the fender when I bottom out and a stone is left kicked up by the tire and temporarily lodges in the tire center line and fender... left a scratch mark on my new tire...
I just replaced the Avon with an Elite 3.. had to grind the tire edge to get off the belt.. On my one block test ride.. the Elite seemed to be no where near the Avon grip...I had to cut the ride short because my Blinker and Strut Bolt was smoking the tire lip..I have a new Avon on the way. Lesson learned..

Yeah back on Avons again!

They look/fit the best on the Big Dog rear wheels.
Maybe some day there will be more choices in a 250 size...

On my second Avon 250 here, my tire guy told me they had problems with the 300,s as someone already stated not the 250

I've been running the Avon Cobra tires with no issues. In fact, I even went down to the 240 /40VR 18. I found the bike handles better and it didn't really change the look at all. Plus I have more space between the tire and belt now.
