Greetings all, recently acquired a 09 Wolf and shortly after my Avon venum rear tire developed bulges on the sidewall. The bike only has 7000 miles and I figure this could be from being used under inflated at one time. None the less I'm trying to replace this tire and Avon discontinued making the venom in this size. Period!
I'm like WTF do I do now? Attempt to run a car tire? I'm thinking what kind of bad joke is this?

HDM has a conversion kit I believe to change the wolf to a tire that is still made -- Call Eric at HDM 620-680-0395 -- Not a cheap solution but a long term one without have to go to the darkside (running car tires)

Thanks for the info', I'll look into it.
It just doesn't make any sense to build a limited number of custom bikes and use a rim size
that's so uncommon. Was the wolf built just for show? Why haven't they looked into overseas tire manufacturer's? Feels like BDM was only concerned with selling a bike instead of keeping it on the road.

Well, when the market is hot, ya do some questionable things and hindsight is always 20/20. Im sure Sheldon didnt think BDM would tank, neither did Avon.

As stated, HDM may have a conversion package. They were looking into it @ one time. Different size rim with all the trimmings.

2009 Wolf is my favorite Big Dog. Would probably own one if it weren't for the rear tire issue. There was a guy selling NOS Wolf tires on Ebay a couple years ago for $1,000 a pop. They sold fast. Keep in mind these were 10 year old tires at the time. Haven't heard anything lately about the conversion that Derek and Donna were working on. Didn't care for the look of it.

Yeah basically you’re up shits creek. That is a bummer of a deal. I am thinking the conversion kit had issues & is discontinued. You can run a car tire on it. Just looks odd as hell. Hope you figure it out. Oh & Welcome to the forum! :chopper:

No issues, it's available. Uses the original hubs, wheel is the only thing that changes to accommodate the tire.

Just need to give us a call and we can discuss it.

It's a smaller 18" rim for a tire that can actually be purchased, but it is a wider tire so it fills the rear fender.
