2300 miles in the 104 degree heat and worth it

Noper. There was a respite for a day and a half while we were in Tellico Plains and it was great. But it got hot quick coming back southwest. But the views were great. We did 100% non-interstate going but hd to succumb to I-40 and I-30 coming back to Texarkana. After that, the Texas US and State highway system is amazing - no need for Interstate and its attendant boredom.

Yep, Ker. We like the extended road trips. We like the heat but 100+ is a bit much. We had a wedding to attend so we could not dictate the time. Even so, it got the itch out. Been a while for a 2000+ mile trip. Used to do a 4000+ each year. Seems like the bike likes nothing more than good hard miles. Always runs better afterward.

PK, without knowing we picked just about every highway that makes up the Comino Real historic trail all the way to Nachez, Mississippi. At that point we took the Nachez Trace parkway all the way to Tupelo, camping out along the way. Then across northern LA and AL to Chattanooga. It was beautiful.

I doubt we will make the 2400 mile marker as our grandkids are in ky and it's tuff to drag the wife away from them once we get there.
