2008 K-9, electrical computer question

Try to start up my K-9. It wouldn't start, heard clicking noise by starter. Check voltage on battery found it to be ok. Check volts coming from green wire which is connected to starter area, only had 8 volts coming from battery. Does this mean that I need a new computer module? Any suggestion or advise would be appreciated, thanks.

Charlie, so many issues can be related to a bad battery. Just because is shows 12V sitting there doesn't mean it's good. Try checking the voltage as you push the start button. Most likely, you need a new battery. Just talking from past experiences here.

I have had this happen a few times with my '09 K-9. Check your battery terminals and make sure they are tight. Mine have came loose just a tiny bit and it seems that if give them a little tightening the problem is gone. I also keep the tender on it as much as possible.

that green wire always has about 8 volt on it no matter what. thats not a problem.

Battery seems to need replacing about every 2 years

What is the battery voltage? It needs at least 12.8 volts to start. If battery voltage is 12.8 or greater then check all your connections at the battery, starter and don't forget the ground wire at the starter mount. If all this checks good then you may need to clean your starter solenoid contacts.:up:

He's got over 13v at the battery no problem. If you jump 12v to the solenoid it starts.

Battery sounds in good shape and if a solenoid JUMP works then the EHC is next.

Check all the wire crimps at both battery posts are good and TIGHT, tug on them. Mine came loose and caused erratic EHC operation.
