2007 mastiff starter relay????

bike problems, need help!!
i am facing a problem with my bike and hope somebody can help me.
My bike has been sitting in the garage for almost a month. I started it yesterday and everything was fine, but today it experienced a sudden shut down except for the hazard lights that were blinking and the the horn.
I checked the EHC, battery and connectors and they iwere all in good perfect condition.
I turned it on and off a couple of times and the same thing happened.
The last time i turned it on I heard a "click click" twice in the starter. I thought it was a relay but noticed my bike doesn't have one.
Then I unplugged the green wire attached to the Solenoid and tried to start it. Nothing. Plugged it again, and it started. Unplugged it again and applied some dielectric grease...
So far, the bike starts, no issues.
My question:
1-If the plugs look OK, do you think might be the SOLENOID, or something else?
In reference to the sudden shut down, i removed the tank (thought it was compressing the wires), loosened the switch wires (black & orange)from the back bone and then tested it a couple of times. The bike started but the shut down continued as well.
At this point, not sure if this is the problem.
In case somebody have had this problem or something similar, please let me know before i put the tank together, which is a pain in the neck.
