2007 Bulldog won't start

I am having problems getting my bike to start, bike will not turn over at all. The fault indicator EHC has the following series of lights & I'm not sure if this provides any information to what the problem is. When the key is on yellow light is solid & green light flashes- the red light flickers very dim. Push run button and the fuel pump kicks on-yellow & green lights remain same & red light is solid. Push the start button -all lights remain same- yellow-solid, green flashing-red solid.
Battery is new, so I know it's not battery. Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the forumn do a search for reading your ehc lights. Your question is vague. New battery ? What is it reading? Volts should be 12.4.
Be more specific to what the bike is doing.

New batteries sometimes are bad - double check all connections and make sure they are tight - start there -

check connections again on battery & it is reading 12.4 volts. tried pushing start & run at the same time it did turn over, turned it off and tried again nothing but fuel pump comes on

So it is cranking ? Starter is turning over? Next thing I would check is the plugs . Is it firing?

ok whats happening is I turn the key on the lights come on, I press the run button the fuel pump comes on after it stops I press the start button and nothing, I have 12.5 volts at the battery. I pressed the run and the start at the same time once and it turned over and I stopped and tried it again but back to the same thing. waited about a half an hour and went out and tried again by turning on the key and presssing the run and start at the same time and it turned over but didn't start but it will only do that once will not not turn over again by pressing the start and run at the same time unless I wait awhile. It will not turn over by starting it like your suppose to by turning on the key then pressing run and waiting till the fuel pump shuts off and then pressing start I don't get anything

I don't know what that does by pressing the run and start at the same time but I don't think it will start that way cause your not not letting the fuel pump build up pressure but it will turn over that way one time and not again if I retry right away

From what you are saying it could be a bad switch board. I still would start with your plugs to see if it is firing. Pull your rear cable to see if you are getting a spark. There is a section on here to explain how if you need it

Is fuel getting clogged at petcock?

There is no petcock on our EFI bikes.

The battery needs to be 12.8 volts 1 hour after a good charge. If you don't have at least 12.5v then when the bike tries to start it's possible the current drain on the battery from the starter will pull down the battery voltage too low for the electronics to properly run. A lower voltage at the battery can also be a sign of a failing battery.

Make sure the small wire crimps on the battery terminal connections are crimped tight and are CLEAN. The big cables are installed first, next to the battery terminal then the smaller wires. Clean everything with a brass gun brush or copper wire brush to get good connections.

How old is the battery and do you keep it on a battery maintenance charger when not riding?

Swap the two relays under the lefthand cover. One runs the horn and the other runs the EFI support, coil pack and fuel pump. You should have spark if the fuel pump is running. Sounds like the relay is okay though.

The COIL will only have 12v going to it during the 2 seconds the fuel pump is running after you PRESS RUN. Once the fuel pump shuts off the same relay will kill the 12v to the coil pack. When you press START you should have 12v at the coil again and obviously while the bike when running. The fuel pump will also CONTINUOUSLY run during this time as well.

Not sure about both buttons at the same time. Never attempted to do that nor do I want to. Like mentioned earlier, it could be an intermittent or bad START button on the Hb controls. If you wash the bike alot you could have water damage there or a loose circuit board wire.

Do searches on the EFI and pump.

Battery tender, clean connections first. 12.4V is not enuff. Does the turn signals flash after you hit the start button?

Have you checked your pcb board. I am thinking it may be a bad board. Due to you having to press both buttons. Just trying to help and this is pretty simple to check
