2006 K9 EHC / WirePlus

Does the 2006 K9 also has the EHC-issue? I want to buy a 2006 K9 and I want to be sure that a WirePlus is needed or not.:feedback:

EFI and Wire+ are completely different beast.

Wire+ is the aftermarket replacement for the EHC. A EFI module is from S&S Engines and controls the fuel injection and timing among other engine specific functions. The EHC is not an issue unless you have a problem being caused by the EHC. There are EHC preventative maintenance related items you can do to prevent problems that have mostly have to do with the harness connections and not the actual EHC module.
A 2006 Bigdog did not come with EFI as an option. It first came out in 2007 on the Bulldog model only.

I think if you research under possibly member nighttrain you will find a post that Bigdog tried and did solve a lot of electrial problems in 2007 and newer models.

However, I think the ECH removal/problem survey shows a lot of 07 bikes replacing the ECH. So what I'm saying is you might be able to ride it and not have any problems but you should plan on needing to replace it if you want to be trouble free. I have over 20k on my 07 but I think I'm starting to have problems.
In all the posts regarding owners who have replaced the wire plus there are very few if any who have had problems since the ECH removals.
Bigdog also sells a ECH removal kit that I just bought and the install is supposed to be much easier so you might look into that
