A buddy of mine has a 2005 ridgeback that won't start / no LED light on the EHC / no headlights / no tail lights no horn / no power to the Speedo or tach. It does have power going in and out of the ignition switch. I need to back up a little bit and start at the beginning. He was having battery problems because he would forget to put it on the battery tender for long periods of time ( out of town truck driver) . So he hooked up a battery charger to it without disconnecting it from the bike ( bad idea he should have disconnected the battery from the bike and definitely not 200 amps) and poured 200 amps to it numerous times to get it charged up over the last few months. He called me today so I drove my 2009 ridgeback over there and disconnected connector (A) power harness from the EHC took a known good Harley battery/deka put it in the bike hooked the positive and negative cables up to the battery and checked the power coming out of the (A) connector on port A-3 with DMM and it has voltage. I also checked A-4 and it shows continuity so the EHC has power going in and is grounded so I'm thinking the EHC is toast. Like I said none of the little leads on it light up. He has the big fuse on it instead of the circuit breaker that you can reset and the fuse is good / power in power out. I took the EHC out of my bike and was going to put it in his and try it but the connector on his harness would not plug into my EHC. The collar that goes around the plug on the EHC isn't the right size. I know if you send it to Curtis he will change them out on a new EHC from your old one. But I didn't wanna take them brass collars off of mine and put his on there.
So with all that said is there something else I should also check before sending that EHC to Curtis and having it checked and possibly having two buy a new one or do all you Big Dog gurus also think that it's the EHC ?? {{ LOST IN IOWA LOL }}
