2003 Texas Chopper Ignitor

Hello and thanks for having me. I am looking for some guidance.
I have a 2003 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper and I'm pretty sure that the ignition module (I think it's called that) under the seatat to the rear of the oil tank is bad. I can't seem to find one anywhere because as we all know AIH is toast. Any ideas on a replacement?
Any way to test the module?
Please help.

Can't help you with testing to see if your module is bad but any aftermarket vendor can hook you up with a new module. You just need to know if you have a single fire or dual fire ignition.

Thanks for looking out for us guys. We have had a couple AIH in for the same problem. Ignitors were made by Gill. I might be able to get one for you but they are junk and you will be back in the same boat.
They don't stand up to vibration. Best bet is for you to let us get a Twin Tec Ignition in for you at forum pricing and be done with it for good.

Mick are you trying to tell me that AIH used an ECU that would not stand up to the vibrations encountered with a V-Twin motor. I also suppose they weren`t going to have any warranty issues to stand good for. Not too sharp of a business move it seems to me, although Big Dog isn`t squeaky-clean in this area. I just wanted to throw in my comment.

No, it is the ignition module not the ecu. AIH's used standard handlebar controls, too.

Now I'm curious, how do you know your ignition module is bad? Have you checked the cam sensor? It's more likely to give you a problem than the module...

I wasn't getting spark out of the rear coil so I hooked the rear coil to the wires for the front coil and got spark. Therefore I knew my coil wasn't bad and I figured that it had to be the igniter. I have heard that a lot of Ironhorse owners have had a problem with these igniters. I'm definitely listening if you've got advise for me. Is there something I can do to test the cam sensor?

Yea.

If you have two coils with 12V to each, the wiring is good, and only one is firing after your troubleshooting, I'd have to agree with you that the ignition module has a problem.
