My 2003 BD Chopper is in need of a new battery. The one I have lasted more than 5 years. Good for me.

What's the best battery you guys think is out there on the market today for a chopper with a 107 S&S engine?

Any thoughts on the Ballistic EVO2 Battery? Any experiences?

Thanks in advance.

I have the braille over 2 years now. Almost double cranking power from stock. I am very satisfied.

For me it is mostly the cold starts where you have to keep hitting the Start button until battery "warms up". Cycling the starting system like that is 1. annoying and 2. doesn't seem like a good thing for the starting system.

I actually like the idea of the technology. Light, good power (when "warm"), long life. I had actually put one on the Harley, and ended up taking it back because of the starting issue.

I know a lot of people have blamed them for other damage, but I am not so sure some of those weren't VR/charging system related. That said, if your VR does go out with the LiON battery, it will "run away" pretty fast and get really hot and swell fast. Don't know that the battery case would rupture. Not sure lead-acid would be much better, but have seen this first hand with LiON.

And at the end of the day, I know it may be just an opinion, but there it is.
