Hope everyone is having a great day so far...Ok...I took the tank off and checked all wires and connections...all appear good. As you can see in the pic I annotated a wire that is part of three wires that are grounded to the frame near the battery. Is this wire suppose to be like that or does it hook up to something? Please help!!

That should be a ground strap to your battery and the wires in that bundle need to be tied to an eye and mounted on top of the ground strap.

Ground strap? Two of those wires are connected...just that one goes no where. If a wire isnt used why ground it...im thinking it disconnected from something. I will take another look.
Thanks Curtis

It appears to be a ground that someone decided they didn't need anymore.
I would still pull all that loose, take it all apart and put it together so all the wires go to one eyelet minus the wire that has been cut, shrink tube it, put a ground strap on from the frame to the battery and put the eyelet back on top of the ground strap when you bolt it back to the frame. That would be the correct way to have it.

Yes, the broke wire in the pic should be attached to something. Big Dog liked to run all the grounds back to the battery (or near it) so there should be something attached to that wire unless it was part of something aftermarket that has been taken off.
Do you have a wiring diagram for your model?

Its hard to see with only the one pic, but it looks like you have the ground strap that Curtis is talking about, I think it has the blue tape on it. It should go to the frame at same place your three wires do on one end and the Negative side of the battery on the other. Then you should have another big wire from Negative side of battery to the starter.
