2001 Mastiff Dash Lights

Does anyone know if the lighting in the 2001 Mastiff dash speedometer can be replaced. When I first bought the bike a couple of months ago, only about half of the of the speedo was illuminated, now nothing. I pulled the speedo out and checked the connections but they all seemed to be good. It registers mph and the trip works, just no light on the face. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check to see if you are getting 12 volts positive and ground to it?

Hi Frank, yes the 2 pin connector is powered. The Speedo initiates when the power is turned on. The needle sweeps and rhe display shows "test". It registers speed just no lights.

I've had my '01 Mastiff since 2002. The speedo never had lights until about 2011, when they decided to come on on their own. In your case you may have to just wait a few more years. If it annoys you you can always increase your consumption of alcohol. Also, never get married. If you find yourself in prison stay vigilant in the shower. Hi 01Mastiff, I'm surprised your speedo didnt have lights as there are lights in my speedo. How would they expect you to drive at night? I would think it would be a law for lighting. They for some reason are not working now but did work when I first got the bike and have since failed. I think I misunderstood your first sentence and thought you were saying it was mnfg'd without lights.

If you want to change speedometers I think bigdogpartsking may have them. Mine is missing a couple of lights. I may take it apart to see what is in there.
