Just like my old Harley Shovelhead (have I mentioned I don't miss that old POS!) on a dual fire both cylinders fire at the same time even though only one is on the firing stroke. This wastes coil saturation energy or they say anyway. What is the difference between the 2? Is it just 1 or 2 seperate coils?
Not necessarily, even the aftermarket ignitions like crane and dyna come in either a single or dual fire configuration. If whoever put your ignition in didn't change out the coils as well then you still have a dual fire ignition. So with my dyna 2000 ign, does that change it to single fire? Interesting.
Yep but make a decision on single or dual fire or you will also need to replace the coil. There are also some ignitions that are available with the trimpot adjustments or one with a module that is tuned by laptop only, again your choice.Just to sum it up, I have duel fire thunderheart ignition, I'm assuming I can get a kit for a 99 and older HD evolution?
Thunderheart dual fire on the pre 2005 models.Vintage Guys!
What ignition is factory installed in 2000 Husky? is it single or double fire? also I'm thinking of dyna 2000i single fire as a upgrade and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this replacement?
Would I order a kit for 99 and older HD softail?
