Irishguy, just had my 10K service at a local dealership here. They charged me $803 dollars. Among the regular service:

That included full synthetic fluid change.
Two new wheel bearings. (not under warrantee they said)
New neck bearing. (not under warrantee they said)
Irradium plugs.

Hope this helps.

Unless somebody has recomendations for a superior bearing, might as well count on replacing them every 10,000 miles. If you use high pressure washers at the car wash, you might want to replace them more often. I've said this a couple of times, just check them every time you shining your bike. If it don't feel or sound right, it ain't right.

That's just my personal opinion! :D

I agree, I've never used a high pressure wash, but I certainly have spent a lot of time in Florida rain showers by the beach (can you say sand?) and I feel I narrowly averted a disaster of a total failure on mine.
I had about 9500 miles on mine.
I certainly will check it more often.....
