1 more speedo ?

OK I pulled my speedo apart because it wasnt working. Found black wire loose from board. Resoldered it. Put back together worked fine but it was on kph. Fixed that and test rode. All seemed fine. Now speedo is off. When bike is parked it sits on 60 mph. When key is turned on cycles down to 30 mph goes up to 80 mph and stays at 60 mph. I recalibrated speedo and still have the same problem. Speedo housing is plastic not metal. I removed the sensor from the tranny and cleaned. Anyone know what I should try next?? Thanks......C

Many post on defective speedos. Many like myself went with the Dakota Digital, or if you have the newer ehc you can have your dealer reflash the ehc.

Well I pulled the tank off and went to unplug the connector and it started working fine. This was after checking all connections and using dielectric grease on them the first time. Did it again and put it all back together and test drove. Noticed when I stopped speedo was sitting at 10 mph. Went and recalibrated again and it seems to be ok for now. On a good note I can pull the tank in about 30 seconds now. I love this bike, I've always got something to be fixin on.

Sometimes when you plug those little connectors together the wires on on side will not seat properly. Just need to ensure all the wires connect tightly.
Hope it works fine from here on out.
