07 K9 clapping from front jug

Anyone had any issues with their 117? My K9 started making some type of chatter from the front jug. At idle you can barely hear it; however, at 55 mph in 5th gear, running at an even 2000rpm, it's loud!!! You can hear it over the pipes and road noise. After fighting with my dealer, I finally convinced them to take it in. I pulled the dipstick and there is evidence of debris in the oil. Looks and feels like metal shavings to me, but then again, I'm not the Big Dog mechanic. The dealer finally took my bike, but I haven't heard anything from them (today makes 4 days). Anyone have any ideas? The bike only has just over 6000 miles on it and it has been serviced by the dealer in accordance with warranty specifications. It's my baby; therefore, it hasn't been beat on.

Does not sound good dude .. you notice any change in how the motor is running? could be a number of things but most likely in the top-end (broken inner valve spring, rocker problem ... need to pull the top off and start from there). Warranty Time

Hey cain, before you jump the gun and get all worked up: like I do, check the top motor mount and the front motor mount! I had the same thing happen on my 07! I couldn't tell were or what the sound was! But taking the advice from everyone here I check and sure enough it was loose! Tighten it and put some locktight on it!

Yeah I surf this site quite a bit for tips and advise. I remember seeing something on the motor mount issue. I had actually looked there first. After a long process of elimination I found the debris in the oil and got really concerned. Thankfully it's still under warranty. My only concern is that I don't have a whole lot of confidence in my local dealer. They've blown smoke up my butt on more than occassion and that's not to mention the shotty work they've done in the past. This time they loaded it on a truck and took it to another location. Hopefully they have someone there that knows what's going on. I guess we'll see...

Have you seen any smoke out of the pipes? It could be valve train noise which could be solved by adjusting the valves.
From the sounds of it you could have a broken valve guide or a ring problem but you should see some smoke. Have you fouled any plugs?
