05 Ridgedback wheel recall

Don't know if someone has already posted this but after a quick check I did not see it.

Looks like there has been a recall for wheel crack inspections on all 05 Ridgidback motorcycles.

Does BDM still make the wheels that are on the 05's if someone had to get one replaced?

Wow, I think I was the start of this recall. After riding with the group to Rolling Thunder last year I noticed that 2 of my 3 spokes on the 05 Ridgeback stiletto wheels were cracked all the way through. I contacted Big Dog and worked it out with them, but it was very scary to be riding on one good spoke before I noticed the crack.

Just went out and checked my wheels. they're lookin good but will add that to my inspection routine.

That's too bad, the 05 ridgeback wheel style is my favorite..

Shredder- did they replace it with the same style wheels or did they get you setup with a new wheel style?

They replaced it with a slightly modified version of the Stiletto wheel, the part that cracked was definitely thicker on the new wheel. Has been fine for a year now.

forgot to ask- where specifically is the weak spot? Near the base or near the rim?

I'll try to point an arrow on a pic and post it, the crack was between the hub and rim where the single spoke meets the 2 points branching out to the rim. Make sense?

My local shop just ordered me a new one. On backorder for now.
