Guys.........replaced the Super E in my 2005 Ridgeback with brand new Super G; removed restrictor plates and rode home from the shop; rides like crap.......between 1500-3000 rpm falls flat then once above that runs strong but heavy popping on decal.
I live in FL so weather is always ideal....used 31 INT and 76 main.

So disappointed..........any suggestions?

Still have to install 585 cam yet but mech didn't have time to do cam upgrade and I wanted it for the wknd.

Do you think this is an INT or Main jet issue?

Thx all :bang:

Agreed, also might want to make sure there are no manifold leaks seeing how it was just installed.

Kapt,
according to his input, he was riding the scoot from the shop and it ran like crap!

If you had a super E and replaced it with a super G the jets are WAY too big for your motor. I did that a few years back and it did the same thing. Wound up putting in small jets which in reality made it back into a super E.... waste of time and money.

Mechanic did the work and he is usually top notch; if
I'm falling flat on throttle from 1000-3000 rpm
Would that mean it's starving for fuel and
I need a bigger intermediate jet ?

I doubt the jets are too small. You could be flooding it or you could have an intake leak. Or the float is set wrong.

Bringing it back today............this guy normally does a great job as he rebuilt my Super E and had it dialed in perfectly but my HP itch got the best of me so I pulled restrictor plates and installed new Super G..........he will get it tuned I'm sure of it just like to hear everyones input.

Brent at S&S said to install .060" airbleed and remove secondary bowl vent plug.

31 INT 76 main ...........what do you run?
I haven't installed 585 cam yet as I wanted it for the wknd.
I'm going to try what Brew has suggested and sent me.

:bang:
It is not a question... it is a Link: http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/fuel-air/14439-what-jets-do-you-run.html

As for what I do run.... have a look on that link... there you will see I had a couple changes b4 & after the cam, etc.

But, I would install the 585 b4 start playing with it as once you have it installed you will have to start over again with tuning your Carb.

Chopper is back at mechanic shop and installing the 585 cam and then will re-adjust jets; will keep all in the loop to the settings and adjustments made at this time.

Hopefully I will be riding wheelies Friday afternoon!
