I have an 05 bulldog and just recently I went to turn it on and it will not start or do anything, I turn the key hit run then start and nothing, but if I hit the run and start at the same time it might start or do some thing, some times, So does anyone have an idea as to what this could be, please help

could be the same as i seem to be experiencing currently. if i don't really press the run button hard, the bike won't start until i go through the procedure again. what i think it is is the pc board in the right control going out on me.

The PCB can be inspected for broken wires and cracks. If all seems to look ok then try this.

Peel back the clear plastic overlay that holds down the three stainless steel pushbutton domes. Be careful not to loose them. Once the overlay and domes are removed take a standard pencil eraser and lightly BURNISH and clean the pads on the PCB. Do the same for the center point and edge points of the dome. Doing this will help make a better contact surface. Replace the domes and overly as they were and reassemble.

Sometimes the domes are not pressed far enough because the SILICONE button overlay inner stems are squished and don't allow you to push as far as when they did when they were new to make the dome switch operate. So NOW you have to press the button harder. I had this happen to my OFF button. I added a small thin (1/32") thick piece of plastic or rubber to the END of the button stem to gain back the needed plunger distance to easily actuate the button.

Once in a great while a DOME can become collapsed, meaning that it has flattened out and deformed and will no longer pop back up. Sometimes this causes the switch function to remain closed and keep the switch in a continuous closed contact condition.

On my 04 chopper i had to press real hard on the start button to get it to start. Then one day it wouldn't start anymore. Took mine apart and I didn;t have the domes. I had like... electrical strips. Tried to clean them up. I ended up replacing it and now its OK. I guess mine just worn out over time.

Thanks guys for all the help I'm fixing to order some new pcb boards for both sides they will not sell them to me in singles, unless someone knows where I can get them individually, but thanks again...

I Just had that happen to me also, the right hand PC Board took a shit on me, so to check it I took the left hand PC out and plugged it into the right harness, since they are essentially the same, just reversed, when I did that the bike fired right up and I knew that my right hand PC was shit! Unfortunately you cannot buy them separately, so you gotta buy both and that's not cheap, $300.00 is what it will set ya back, but it's worth it! Good Luck!
Shit, this just reminded me of another $300 I spent on this bike! Fuck, this thing has cost me a small fortune! Still, I don't care! I love this bike and will "Never" sell it!:whoop::whoop::whoop::old2::old2::old2:
