I have been looking long & hard for exhaust options for Big Dog's and finally I am excited to have found one that is high-quality and will fit all 04 & Earlier with LSD. Will not work on RSD the pipes are bent too close it will not clear the pulley cover. Believe me I TRIED, I even tried a different RSD trans entirely and that didn't allow it to fit either!

Exhaust are scarce these days for these types of bikes and we are just trying to make sure folks have a viable option available to help continue to keep these bikes on the road! Purchasing them from us it's guaranteed fitment & in-stock & ready to ship. It also helps us continue to maintain this type of service going forward, I have tried test fitting more exhaust than I can count over the years....haha

Overall a great custom look option with not a custom exhaust price.

These are:
  • 3 stepped header design for performance and proper exhaust scavenging
  • dual heat shields
  • internally coated to help prevent the notorious bluing.

In my opinion any exhaust without a heat shield looks like shit in no time at all. No bracket is required, pipes simply bolt together. There is an adjustable transmission mount you can use but it would only be required on rubber mounted motors. There's a few very early Big Dog's with Rubber Mounted Motors so it's included.

These are short, so loud but not obnoxious. Baffles can be added to this exhaust if you ever wanted to quite it down, I don't think anyone will want to if this is the type of style you after.

You should be prompted when you add this exhaust to your cart, but don't forget to add in new exhaust flanges and gaskets to your order as these are not included from the manufacture.

I had a set of Eddie Trotta D2's for a little while and those I had to make my own baffle as it was a little over bearing. I have also ran the FSD exhaust (more expensive and not even made anymore) which are similar to these, arguably these are better because you can maintain a stock style S&S air cleaner there is enough room for the backplate. The FSD had to convert to aftermarket which also added to the overall cost.

We only have 1 set left in-stock right now, they moved out a little quicker than I anticipated - but more already on the way!

Check out the video below for a little noise!

If anyone has any questions about this exhaust or anything else, just give me a call 620-680-0395

These are similar in style to FSD that's it, not made by FSD. Pipes are bent different so won't fit RSD, and front pipe is also bent lower to allow for a stock air cleaner bracket.

These are aftermarket production pipes, like a vance and hines or bassani just obviously a much smaller company we are now a distributor for, Blow Exhaust is the name it's an Australian company. Wanted to find a high quality exhaust that we can guarantee fitment on and offer to folks with these bikes. It's very high quality and I think it's damn bad ass in my opinion. I've ran the FSD and Eddie Trotta (neither companies make them anymore) and I would rank these right there quality wise and might even give this one the nod as the fitment is spot on for the LSD bikes and also have the internal coating. The end of the pipes and points are more tucked into the frame than FSD or Eddie Trotta so anyone running these shouldn't have issues flattening the bottom's like on the other pipes I mentioned above.

We all know there really is not many options for exhaust like there used to be, all the companies that used to make them no longer exist. Just excited to be able to offer a great exhaust option for the older bikes!

How much interference to the pulley cover? Maybe a strategic pie cut under the heat shield?

or..

Maybe we could encourage them to make a set for the RSD

Great looking pipes, like the fact you can still use the S&S tear drop air cleaner. No mention of the cost and shipping??? Are the RSD pipes in the works? Hope so, a nice alternative to V&H big radius.

Guess I never hit post on my response the other day.

Unfortunately, the heat shield do not even come into play its the actual pipe. Look closely at the the bottom of both pipes notice how they are pointed roughly straight back instead of out? The FSD face out not back, at a stop light with the FSD if you can feel the exhaust on your pant leg if your leg is back enough, with these the exhaust points straight back.

Maybe this picture will help explain it. Now imagine a clutch cover with a drive pulley...haha

I tried multiple different options and as soon as you get the rear pipe to even clear the clutch cover on the 300's by 1/8" then it's no longer square in the manifold. I even tried to test fit this on 3 different RSD transmissions & cover's. Not to mention the front pipe no longer lines up with the bracket or even looks good. Both pipes would require to be bent differently, and the heatshields would have to change. Basically a complete redesign for the machine benders and weld machines. Considering these are more production assembled pipes, not custom or built in small #'s. It's a tall order as the market for 300 pipes is small and we all know it's not growing right now. If we can move a bunch of these LSD ones for them perhaps we will earn a leg to stand on to encourage it. In my initial discussions they were not interested.

What if you cut the flanged end and reweld to fit square?

That’s kind of what I was wondering, or maybe pie cut a section on the back side and weld.
Well guys, yea you could do that but then again you could do that with any exhaust. You would have to do the same to the front exhaust then you will have to cut and reweld the mount. If you wanted to you could also modify this exhaust to fit your lawnmower, if you so desire.

I expect you would then have to re-chrome it to make it look decent and the way the heatshields go up so high you might need to trim those too when you change the angle in the head. So at that point you're in a shit load of time/money.

I think it's better to start from scratch, everything I have received any one-off custom exhaust with heat shields for the 300 is around $12-$1400 these days. Which has always been about going rate for the last 15 years going back to the Martin Bros, stainless creations, street walkers days, there used to be a bunch. I know I recently bought a custom set just a few years ago from SikPipes and I had to cut them as it dragged just going right in a parking lot, that's a lot of money to have to cut as soon as you get them. That's why unfortunately I wouldn't recommend trying to make this exhaust work on a right side drive.

Will certainly keep looking for RSD bikes but they already have good options, and LSD folks didn't really have a good option. We now carry the Vance and Hines 2-2 for 300 and still have the Supertrapp with the updated muffler. Those two systems are the only ones I can recommend for the right side drives right now. Which are also in stock & available!

So spent a little time last nite getting the drag pipes off & gaskets out. Installed the new gaskets with this homemade gasket installation tool. Hope to get started on the pipes tonight. 660EE9A7-65B6-4C6E-883F-81ED197FCA0E.jpeg

Looking forward to the final assembly pictures!

There's another guy that already is running them. Check out the link on the website for his pics
