04 Chopper Cutting out post WP install

Thanks for any suggestions on this problem. I installed the WP Kit on my 04 chopper and I'm now having a strange problem. My bike cuts out at 4K RPM whether a hard acceleration or a gradual increase in RPM up to it. I checked my gas cap vent and cleaned my carb jets just in case because it had sat for a while. When it cuts out I back off the throttle and it restarts on its own followed by a backfire out the exhaust. It will do this three times on the third time tach goes out and I have to pull over and cycle the ignition switch to restart it. Other issues possibly related: when ignition switch is turned on right turn signal is on? and Speedo doesn't register correct speed (not a new problem). I have driven a few hundred miles staying below 4k RPM with no additional issues. My ground wires are are soldered together and going to the frame I am changing this today and connecting direct to the battery via a 10Ga cable. Help please.

I would check the key switch. They do not like the vibration they receive being mounted on the motor mount.

I've heard about problems with the gin switch that WP provides. I just don't understand why I can run a long time at 3500 RPM with no cutout and lots of vibration, but as soon as I hit 4k RPM bam it cuts out. Doesn't seem make sense to me. I have a new switch on order anyway.

I wired the grounds direct to the battery with 10Ga wire soldered all grounds together. Problem still exits. Replaced the ignition switch with a Harley FXR switch. This fixed the cutting out problem. Still have issues with the rt turn signal and speedo, but minor compared to bike stalling. Thanks for the help Olde Man. BTW what a difference between the Harley switch and the POS WP switch! You can immediately feel the difference when you turn the key.

I have the same exact bike as you with the Wires Plus kit and just experienced the same problems you did. I will try the fxr key switch. Do you have the part number?? Do you think I still need to move my grounds from the frame to the battery?
I also had the same issue with my right turn signal turning on by itself. That was last year before the WP Kit instal. It ended up being a frayed wire on the circuit board in the handlebar. I just had a buddy that works with electronics solder 2 new wires onto the board (replacing the old ones). I reinstalled and no longer have that issue

It has to do with the frequency of the vibration.
All vibrations are not created equal.
Have you checked the wiring under your tank for possible issues with the tach and blinker. Since it has to do with two circuits heading in the same direction I would be suspect of issues under the tank.

I recently have had a WP kit installed (two months ago) and now my scoot is shutting off intermediately. First couple of times I thought maybe I had not let it warm up or something. Then I was traveling down the road, around 70mph, and she cut off. Able to get her to the side of the road, restart and down the road I continue. Now she doesn't like to run but for a few minutes. Thought it was gas problem but everything checks out. All the wiring seems tight and in place like it suppose to be.
Any suggestions? Could it be the ignition module is starting to go and should I replace the module?
