04 BD chopper issues

Ok so i bought a New to me 04 Chopper. I have some questions about this thing and maybe somone can help.
OK first thing. When i go out to start the bike,turn the key on, make sure its in neutral and hit the start button and it does nothing. so i hit the run switch and try to start again, nothing. If I hold the Run button and hit the start button it will fire up. what could cause this? doesnt do it all the time.
Second. Sometimes while idle, all the rpm lights blink. rev it up a bit and it starts working as it should. What does this mean?
Third. The bike has a 250 rear tire and is very slightly touching the belt. on occasion i can hear it making noise. Is this bike supposed to have a 240?
and the last thing is it was missing the points cover? smaller cover on right side of engine. Where can i find one? and a good place for Forward control extensions? im 6'6 and i feel cramped.

1) Could be a short somewhere or an EHC issue
2) Blinking tach lights means your idle is set too low
3) If you have Metzlers it will otherwise your alignment is probably off

What is the EHC? Sorry I'm new. And thanks for the link to the extensions I'm going to order those soon.

here you say you have an '04, in your intro you say you have an '05..... could be enough differences between the two to cause problems. need to be specific.

Like mentioned above if your idle is to low the rpm lights will flash. This is normal. Idle needs to be turned up. The 04 Choppers came with a 250 rear tire. It may be out of alinement. You should purchase a users manual to get more info on adjusting it or keep searching this forum. Its on here also. The EHC is the "brain" so the BD can run. It is under the seat. A little kind of square box. Once again do a search here on the forum. Lots of info on this also. As for starting not sure what would cause that. I have a 04 Chopper. I had a EHC at one time and mine would start normal. If your looking for parts Ebay is a good place to look. Also here on the forum there is a section for parts for sale. Check it out.

Good call, that was a typo. I fixed it. Mine is a 04.
