03 Mastiff Clutch assembly

Trying to replace a burnt up clutch assemby in a 03 Mastif, my friend took it apart and ordered replacement part, but has no service manual on how to put it all back together. Has 9 friction plates + steel plates, Need a service manual and cant find one, or just a diagram for assembly..can nayone help me with this?

Send me a message or e-mail me. I just made a copy of the 1994-2004 service manual with the clutch/primary specifications. It doesn't have images, but does say which manufacturers they used for the clutches per year.

Unfortunately in that service manual there wasn't. I would check with whatever clutch manufacturer your bike has for a clutch. Looks like they used a couple different ones before they went to us.

Big Dog used Rivera clutches until 05. When replacing the fibers and steel plates, the thickest steel plate will go in first, which is 0.120 thick. On the steel plates, one side will have sharp edges and the other side will have rounded edges. Whichever way you put the first steel plate in, the rest should go in the same direction. Hope this helps you.

You could also call Kent at Energy One Clutches. They manufacture the plates for many if not most of the big boys selling clutches. I a. ..m sure he will be able to answer any questions you may have.

anouther bandit clutch

just finished installing my new bandit clutch in my 05 ridgeback and would like to thank gas man for his how to and all other forum members who have commented on their install. with all the tips and knowlege and impact wrench with bearing press on hand it went from in the box and on the bike in about 3 hrs. if anyone is on the fence with this mod you will not be sorry to pull the trigger. what a difference from the bdm clutch. just thought id share that and thanks to all our members who make working on these beasts just a little more tolerable.
