Ok so here is an update on the BDL open belt drives. As a lot of you know a while back I started talking with Scott From BDL about making open belt drives for our dogs again. He wanted me to get 100 ppl to email him saying they wanted a open belt drive, to take to the owners of the company to show there was a market and money to be made making belt drives for our bigdogs. Well after a long time coming we are one step closer and within months of making this a reality.

I talked today with Scott and I am sending him what he needs to get these motor plates started. They pretty up have the pulleys, belts and outter bearing supports ready to go. Looks like they only plan on making a 2 inch belt and maybe a 2.5 inch belt open belt drive. Got to get with Erik about the offsets of the transmissions between a 330, 300 and 250 back tire and have him explain to me how this would need to be addressed on motor plates. Because due to the width of motor plate and outter bearing support plates a 2 inch belt drive could end up being close to 5 inches thick from motor to outter bearing supports and they want to ensure ground clearance in cornering. They will have what I'm sending them for 3 to 4 weeks after receiving it and then will start making the motor plates shortly there after. So hopefully we should all have a very Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas this year. And all have a great New Year of riding in style with our new chrome belt drives. So this is my Christmas gift to all of you on the forum page. I hope yall enjoy them.

Thanks,
Terry

Any word on how much they will be selling them for?
Not exactly, the more ppl that emailed them kind of determined the price. The more ppl they knew wanted them, the cheaper they could sell them for. But I'd have to find the original post about all this I'm think depending on your options, belt size, outer bearing support bracket, chromed and stuff like that I want to say the most expensive was like $2400. But again it depended on how many ppl emailed Scott too that played in pricing.

This is a 2” belt and I have no problem with slippage
Looks good for sure. Isn't your belt drive for 04 and older? Just wondering if you could or would measure it from motor to the outer most side to see how wide total these things might be.

Looking forward to retirement
The BDL lock up clutch is fabulous. The harder you roll the throttle back the harder it bites. Clutch does NOT slip!
