Played a little "hooky" from work after lunch. Went to Daytona, to see how things were progressing.
A lot of vendors, setting up, and set up at Destination H.D. Daytona Speedway, some vendors, and a lot of manufacturers. A lot of early arrival bikers. It's gonna be crowded for sure. Gas prices high, with regular avg. $ 365.00 +.

Really hope you got the decimal wrong on that - Three Hundred sixty five dollars a gallon and everyone will be stuck there!

The drastic rise in fuel cost should really reduce the participation of long distance bike week travelers this year. I know it has forced my cancelation of the journey from Chicago.

Say what Keith? You skipping out on a party in warm weather? You feeling okay up there in the North? lol

Yea gas prices are almost double what they were last year at this time and they will go up more before you get back. There might be parts of this country that may see $5 gallon for unleaded. We will all be stuck at home again....lol

Another sad tale, we will not be going south now, as my co-worker that covers for me fell on some ice in a parking lot and broke his wrist. He will be out of work for 8+ weeks, as this requires me to stay home and work (how terrible is this). Was really looking forward to the warm weather as it has been to damn cold here. You all have a great time and hopefully my co-worker will be able to work so we can be in Tennessee for the gathering.

Well that is a bummer. Everything happens for a reason. Might be best for ya at this time. Freaking gas is off the charts here. Cheers to Ya! Hope to see you in a couple months! :chopper:

Anyone knows who currently owns the top 2005 Chopper pictured, with the flames? That was originally my bike (purchased new from Fury Motors in St. Paul, MN in 2005). I reluctantly had to sell it due to financial hardships. The guy I sold it to assured me he would give me first dibs on buying it back. Well, that didn't happen. I made it clear I would buy it back as I had recovered and then next thing I know, he sold it. Never got a call. That was a great bike! Did many cross country trips on it.

I didn’t actually get to meet the guy riding it when we were at the River Grille but they were down to Bike Week from Wisconsin. That bike had a really cool military paint job as I recall. By the time Chong & I went looking for the owner they had cut out.AD2F12D5-BCD8-43E4-B075-41123D5FC4CF.jpeg
