Hey guys, Looking to buy a Dyna 2Ki kit, I'm just wondering if anyone would have the exact kit I would need to fit my bike.. Not to sure on how to cross reference as of yet lol.. Here are my bike specs, 04 Chopper DT 107S&S.

Once I purchase this kit and install it I can fully eliminate the Thunderheart correct?

(D2KI-5P) - Dyna Ignition 2000I Single Fire Ignition & Coil

Yes, you will be able to fully eliminate the thunderheart. You will also have to change out your coil as this will upgrade you to a Single fire versus your current dual fire. The new coil comes with the Kit.

Install is fairly straightforward. Instead of having the Thunderheart mounted under the seat the module is located in the nose cone.

This mod is on my short list, just need to get the Funds. Spent a lot on the skoot this year, not sure if I can swing it over the winter. Plus if I do it I'm thinking go to a dual coil setup

Perfect! I figure each OEM piece i get off the bike and replace it with aftermarket im only making it newer and more reliable! Now at the end of the day Single Fire or Dual fire, Which is better for street type riding?

And also, I have a dyna coil right now but since im switching to single fire, do i have to run dual coils?

I went 2ki when I put in the wire plus. You can tweak the curve with dip switches on the module. I chose the middle one. Yes it will be a big performance improvement for your 04. Just do it.

Toughest part was fishing up the centerpost and backbone to the coil.

Dyna provides instructions for wiring hookup and the module adjustment in the nosecone.

So, When i went to order it i got rather confused.. With the single fire single plug coil mount where the stock one was? I see 2 mounting holes vs the 1 we originally have.

That's ok Mark, there are several guys on here running them. I've been around that unit, but I haven't installed one myself. They are pretty straight forward on how they go in.

First thing is find the advance position at the crank window plug. Find an old set of plugs and use those as your spark. Leave one lead on the cylinder, it might fire off. The long slots in the ignition plate, you center this. Think of that cup window as the leading edge opening and closing edge. So as the cup window is stationary at the crank window, move the backing plate either way unit you cause a spark at the plugs.

Set the lockers down slightly because you may move it again. Back wheel has to be off the floor, as you move the crank backwards and then forwards. A spark should occur at the advance position. Meaning, you can also move the crank back and forth as you move the plate and see if you have to move the plate more in that one direction.

To see what you are aiming for, you are looking at the cup without the plate in place. You timed the crank mark in the window. When you move the plate into position, see where the magnetic pickup is in proportion to the cup's cutout window? There you see where to move the plate in said direction. Spark at the mark, tighten the set screws, light it off, crank plug back in place of course.

Recap:
1. Move the back wheel and match the advance mark to crankcase window, a spark should occur by moving the plate.
2. Leave the crank in the advance position, move the plate in either direction so as to make a spark occur.
3. Finalize [either way you time it] by moving the crank backwards, then forwards so the advance mark stops and you heard the spark occur.
