What to have in your tool bag?

Good afternoon boys and girls!

I have a 2003 Big Dog Chopper with the tool bag on the bottom of the frame....

What tools/equipment do I need to have in there?
(Best to buy whatever I need piece be piece, or get a “motorcycle repair “roll-up” kit?)

I currently only have some electrical tape, zip-ties, and the 2 fuses for the wiring under the seat.

Thanks in advance!

I have a 2005 Chopper DT.
Until I get a sissybar setup to put a bag on, my tools are in a backpack along with raingear.

For me:
- Small portable jumpbox to start the bike in case the battery dies.
- Tire repair plug kit for both big and small punctures.
- Small portable air compressor to inflate tire.
- CO2 capsules to inflate tire if air compressor or battery can't.
- Extra fuses
- All tools for the bike with the exception of that enormous 1 3/8" wrench to tighten the nuts on top of the fork.
-- This would include a standard allen wrench set, a 1/2" socket, and a few other wrench sizes that I can't remember off the top but may be different for your bike anyway.

Oh yeah and some polish and a rag so the fat girl I pick up at the bar doesn't see any dirty areas or smudges :D

How about a jump box, air compressor and a tire plugger? That's what I have in mine

Like something like this...
For me that kit has stuff I don't need that take up space/weight and is missing some stuff I need.
I had to go over every nut and bolt on the bike to come up with mine and unfortunately you'll probably have to do the same. It's a good opportunity to apply "witness marks" to critical bolts so you know if they're starting to loosen.
What I have is a streamlined kit that, with difficulty, I could squeeze into a roll bag if I had to but I'm about to bite the bullet and get the whole sissybar setup and then I can take a lot more stuff and have the freedom without the backpack

Most important 2 tools don't go in the tool bag

Charged cell phone
AAA Plus RV or Premium RV

I'm about to reload mine and I'll list it all out when I am done.

My tool roll is fairly close to the checklist. I can't believe NoH2O fits all that stuff in a regular tool roll. I'm already worried about mine breaking the straps its so heavy.

- Clear glasses w/ case (ruined 1st pair with scratched lenses)
- Cap (helmet hair is horrible)
- 10mm wrench for battery
- Allen wrench set for everything else
- Tire pressure gauge
- Screwdrivers

That fills mine over the top. Wish it had room for sunscreen, polish and towel. I have to add the sissy bar bag to get all that stuff. My problem is the brown faux gator bag is so tiny it won't even hold as much as the tool roll. I'll add it when the wife rides, but have only the tool roll when its just me.

The kit looks pretty comprehensive. $40 probably isn't too bad. Wonder if it really all fits in a standard tool roll.

It's a pretty big tool roll, big enough that I'm not comfortable placing it on the lower front of the frame like a lot of people do, although I do like the way that looks.
Add to it, this is being meticulously packed so there is no wasted space. Not really feasible (hence the sissybar setup purchase) since everytime I grab something out of there I need to repack it.

In addition to what was previously mentioned, here is a post from 2018 for additional ideas....
