I don't understand, this says it's an 02 but I thought 06 was the first year for the k-9, which it looks like it is since it doesn't have the S&S headers.
Also the ad mentions Big Dog/Buell ... did those two companies ever collaborate?

06 and that dog needs some serious work. For some reason the person tried to hide by editing the image that the right side cover is MIA. Left one is missing too?

Never mind the cleaning and what else it may need. Looks like a Dakota digital speedo so I doubt it has 4k lifetime miles...

08 was the first year for EFI on the K9 so I'm sure with the TP headers it's carb'ed but I don't see a petcock

I inquired on this bike like a year ago, the bike needs a complete electrical system, he claims that is just the blinkers and horn that need to be fixed, but i remember he told me that somebody rewired the bike ( Means to me, shitty work) besides that the pics talked by themselves/
I offered him $5000 at the time but he didnt accepted, in todays maket i would pay $4000 for this bike/

He says he must sell asap.So he might take less and I would not do more than 5k either. I wonder what year it really is?

He says he leaves in 30 days and needs it gone so I'd assume no trades.
Says the title reads a 2002 Buell. Says he spoke to "them" (I'd assume BDM) and they said Buell built some early.
VIN is: 4MZSS11J123201015 Anyone know a free or nominal cost resource to do a quick but thorough lookup?

That is not a BigDog VIN..

I just looked it up and it's a Fucking 2002 Buell Lightening X1. That's where the date and buell BS comes in. Buell didn't build any...lol

This guy can't read the VIN on the neck?

Big Dog was around in 02 but very early and those bikes don't look a damn lick like this one. Unless I was close to this guy is just run away from this mess

He said it runs perfectly no issues, electrical or otherwise.
Said the guy he bought it from didn't have the title and when he went through the registration process, the 2002 Buell title is what the DMV issued.
Is BDM able to issue anything that states that that VIN is an 06 K-9 that he can take to the DMV to get the title right?
I guess the real question is "what are the possible scenarios in which Bike A gets titled as Bike B?"

I would look elsewhere. This seems at best a whole lot of trouble.

It will probably take a "Philadelphia Lawyer" to sort thru the mess.

Here's your problem....someone modified that VIN and no BigDog sure as hell won't help. They don't know the history. Someone wanted to modify the number for a reason either stolen or salvage

All big dogs start with the number 5J1 it's their assigned numbers

Should start with a 5J11YB if it's a k9
