Big Dogs Unleashed'

Blacktopper and I are already home because we only live about 90 miles from Fall River. I joked and said we thought about commuting....haha
Takeaways from the Big Dogs Unleashd Event:
--In planning an event like this, there is always a committee, but ultimately the coordination and actual planning falls to one person. In this event, it was Shannon Wright. He is a very bright guy who managed all of the different data strands and put together a resounding success. No doubt about it, Mr. Wright is an event planner of the first order--how about 2018 or 2019? To remind you, I'm old and don't know about waiting 10 years, unless we have facilities for walkers and Depends as door prizes....
I think everyone who attended would be up for it, along with many who couldn't make it this year.
--Flint Oaks is a national quality event center, the equal of any four star convention hotel I've ever experienced (many). The service is excellent, food is outstanding. The landscaping is beautiful, and the grounds include skeet, trap, pistol/rifle ranges, along with a swimming pool, about a 10+ acre pond, etc. In short, the physical place is truly a thing of beauty out here in central Kansas.
--The showing of good will by Derek and Donna in contributing to our event cannot be overstated. They contributed thousands of dollars to show support for the participating members. I for one regard their contributions as over the top, and am so grateful for their continuing support. To say nothing of having all the parts I need.
--Biker Babe's shot glasses everyone got were unique and a nice contribution too---a real hit at the dinner.
--Matt and his family and Staff. Matt organized and donated to many of the quality events that made this event so great. Matt organized shooting range, and brought several kinds of firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Virtually everyone shooting has experience and has had to buy ammo, so there should be an awareness of the hundreds of dollars of ammo we shot up Friday afternoon. What fun! He also donated several high quality door prizes and bike show awards, as well as the meal for all the riders Saturday noon at BDM shop in Wichita. Matt is a skilled natural public speaker and his narrative of the story of Big Dog and his plans for the company was illuminating.
--Matt's beautiful wife, his twin brother, Dad, and Cousins also showed up and helped with all aspects. Gratitude, and it was a pleasure to meet all of them. Fine people all.
--Two of Matt's team were of particular notice for their contributions:
Brandon and Chris.

Those two team members were indefatigable. Brandon and Chris were in the background much of the time doing the things necessary to support the 'fun stuff'. I noticed Brandon spent the afternoon loading magazines for people to use at the range Friday afternoon. He spent hours in supporting the fun that everyone else was having. Bringing in water coolers, etc. Then after that he fixed a few members' bikes. Chris did the same. I saw Chris pulling a primary (cheerfully and joking the whole time) sitting in a damn gravel parking lot. I don't think either slept more than a few hours all weekend, and when I was ready to leave the BDM shop Saturday afternoon, I walked over to say so long to Brandon, who had been fixing members bikes all afternoon. He said to me, "Someone told me you said your valves were a little noisy". This kind of cheerful help from a guy who had been charging hard and working his butt off with little sleep and mostly out of the limelight. Man. Brandon and Chris are heroes. When Matt introduces these guys as invaluable members of the BDM team, he's not kidding. The sense of comradiere and shared purpose is apparent. Apologies to those overlooked..your contributions are appreciated.
Meeting folks previously only seen online. This was a real pleasure. I enjoyed meeting in person so many guys I'd only seen online...how great to put faces and personalities to the names.....
--The Ride to BDM in Wichita:
Ever have an 80 mile stretch of beautiful Kansas highway, almost zero traffic, and you are in the midst of a pack of 40+ Big Dogs running at 80 mph? We did. Priceless.
Can't agree more here.

Kel and I just got back to Dallas and I can't thank everyone enough. Flint Oaks, the McClouds, Big Dog and Matt.

Food was great, weather was spectacular...boys we sure did get a hell of a weekend with cool days and nights.

Thanks to the sponsers for the door prizes I didn't get to see them all but there was shirts, hats, wheel bearings, LED headlights, and Skog I think hit the jackpot winning the jump start pack.

Man what a great weekend and I had a great ride up and back with Kel and his wife.

Everuone who went knows but for those who didn't y'all sure missed out.

I know I'm usually the one to upload pictures but my phone doesn't like when I take long trips and the camera doesn't focus. My pictures make my phone look drunk, or maybe it's my fault for drinking until 330AM on Friday and roping in Marky Mark and Curtis to drinking.

We did have a photographer, well Matt at BDM has his there but we also had a staff member at Flint Oaks take some very professional high quality pictures. We obtained a flash drive with all of these pictures and it's being mailed to me and I'll get them uploaded to a file site for everyone to access them and download them in their high quality format. If you were there on Friday there is probably a pic of your bike you want to frame. These are the pics they had on the TV as you walked into the lodge.

Wait till you see the video of the ride Matt photographer took. He rode on the back of Tapios Harley with Marky Mark navigating.

This thing is gonna be the best video we have ever seen he has 80 miles of a pack of 40 dogs . High Quality video, once back at the shop a few if hung around and to say he was excited about what he can do with that footage is an understatement.

After a short stop at a rest area, I couldn't help but notice that my Ridgeback looked so happy to have gone back to it's birth place. I mean words can't describe what I saw. After traveling up in the rain, going down many gravel roads, and not being cleaned up like I planned.......well, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I would also like to thank everyone who helped put all this together, Tim, for starting Bdb and keeping it going all these years, Flint Oak for their amazing facilities and going out of their way to make sure we had an awesome time there, the staff, food, everything was top notch, Matt Moore and the Big Dog family for building these machines we all love, I wasn't able to make it to Derek and Donnas to thank them in person unfortunately, so I hope they get our messages here, I know a lot of people
Wanted to go but we ended up running late and couldn't really fit it into the schedule, also, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Mr. Wright and a few other guys and riding into flint oaks together, Shannon literally never stopped the entire time we were there too, he did a great job herding all us bikers up when we needed to be and making sure everything was smooth sailing, which I know wasn't easy....really, we have all ourselves to thank as well for coming together like we did without any hiccups really, no one got hurt, no problems with drunk bikers with guns, no wrecks, everyone got along great, we did a pretty good job imo, expecially when no one knew what to truly expect once they got there. I'm looking forward to doing this again next year or two years or ten or however long I have to wait to be able to see everyone again. :old2::patriot::chopper:

( Now that I have cell signal again I can upload some pictures, I couldn't even get connected to the wifi out there)

X2... I didn't have the pleasure of actually bonding with everyone due to the high attendance that we really didn't expect.. and that makes this all that much better and I am hoping we can make this an annual event!

I don't know, but I sure someone will chime in and give us an update.
We used my debit card to transfer the funds quickly. Therefore she received my contact info. This is the email I received today.

"Words kind of fail me right now. I am overwhelmed by your generosity.

My surgery removed my bladder and now I have a stoma. This means that for the rest of my life, I will need medical supplies. So far the costs have been $150-$200 per month. I'm hoping that the better I get with changing out my bandages, the less I will have to spend, LOL! It's been a little rough. I'm telling you this so that you know how much your donation means to me. It has given me a reprieve from the stress of worrying about where the money is going to come from to get my supplies. Your donation allows me the peace of mind to know that I have supplies for the next 5-6 months, hands down!!

From the bottom of my heart- thank you, thank you, thank you.

Amy"

And my response to her.

"Thank you for your response. But, it by no means was all from me. This came from a number of Big Dog Biker Forum members. I was simply the last link in the chain, therefore the name you saw.
It greatly pleases me to know that our group could in a small way repay some of the kindness you've shown to us.

Thanks Shain for posting and the email And your generosity.

I was hoping my comment on her board would help point her over to the forum. But I figured that was the quickest and easiest way to get the money to her rather than trying to track her down at Strokers as I'm not sure how often or when she is there.

Hands down....one of the best experiences ever. Got to put a face to the many members that I have met on this forum. Everyone was positive and up beat. Great venue and staff. This to me is more than a forum...its family. Thanks to all that is a part of it and all who dedicate there time to it.

Our trip continues....stopped in Fayetville today to see Mastiff Dave who was unable to attend. Got to meet Dan330 and Splitdog. Happy to say Dave is doing better...and he sends his regards to all.

I hope everyone got back safe. And Chubs...I hope you weren't "Fuking Durty" when you got back...LOL!

Hey! That "dirty" was due to having to crawl thru the forest to escape from the kidnappers, or maybe just road dust from seeing just about every county in Kansas! But it was worth every inch of the trip!!!
