has anyone ever put a solo seat like the one on the pitbull ? seriously thinking of doing this on my 08. I'm not sure why...but my 08 rides so much rougher than my 05. Donna sells the pittbull set up for $499. Was wondering if anyone else has tried this or another set up. Not sure how it would look either. thoughts or suggestions?

ask a serious question, get bullshit answers. really ????? there was a member with a blue ridgeback in the past, can't remember his name, sorry. he had an '08 pitbull style seat mounted on his, it was leather like a Paul Cox tooled seat. took off the fenders and it actually looked like a good old school chopped bobber. had to do some creative fab work to make it work, but he did it.

appreciate the replies...that black chopper looked really cool. think I'll give it a try but not with the pittbull set up (looks too bulky) that airbag deal wouldn't cut it for me ... probably get tired of explaining to people that I don't have hemorrhoids. lol

I fabbed one for my 01 pitbull, seat pan off the net, set of springs, machined spring end to rest on crossbrace.
used stock seat loop to mount ( still can put original seat back on )
fake alligator seat cover.
total cost about 100.bucks.

If I knew how to post pic's , I would .

That drill bit would worry me punching thru the steel. And I hope the screw won't wear on the loom and wires. It is a neat looking job though.
Agreed, may want to try drilling the seat slot rather. Looks like the other guy ran a tap down there which isn't much to bite to.

Using that seat slot you could use a chrome nut underneath and no worries about rubbing wires.

I think he choose the other route based on the seat pan he had otherwise it would be too far forward.

One other thing I'd be worried There is ALOT of pressure he is putting on those bolts which are threaded just into the Steel tubing again not enough bite in my opinion. You hit enough bumps and that will pull right out. Those bolts have to absorb the weight of a rider and the forces coming down associated with that. Spring seats are always moving so constant pressure and force

Shit just looked this post was back in 08.
