hope it ends up being everything she wants. after all, that's what counts.i seen that one when I was looking but alicia liked the aih better and specs wise it's a better fit for her less rake same weight as her nightster and rubber mounted motor all that will make her more comfortable and it has billet wheels not spoke and only 1300 miles for almost $2000 less
Whatever she likes is kinda how ya have to go. I personally dig this one better, but it's not for me and it's not for u, it's for momma and that's that.. loli seen that one when I was looking but alicia liked the aih better and specs wise it's a better fit for her less rake same weight as her nightster and rubber mounted motor all that will make her more comfortable and it has billet wheels not spoke and only 1300 miles for almost $2000 less
I think that's not that hard of a fix unless ur in an area where upholstery is limited.. I didn't care much for it, but I kinda saw it as a $200 fix.. but I also think the bike is over priced by about 1k to start so leaves very little wiggle room to start negotiations.I think the tan seat killed it![]()
I'm with ya there, my wife as never rode my big dog, she is too scared of it, don't want to hurt her and says the clutch is way too much. Her bike of choice is the cbr, she rides the fury when we ride together, which isn't often cuz she prefers to go along our the ride. AIH and BDM are very close bikes, the models replicate each other very much and I loved my AIH, but loved the money from it more.. lol. N e ways I think u made a solid choice and will be happy as well as her!Honestly I woulda liked to have gotten her a big dog but when looking at used ya gotta take a lot of things into consideration and as meticulous as I am and she expects me to be as well as making sure her fit and comfort is similar to what she is use to I think we made the right choice, hell i woulda gave her the pitbull and bought A 330 ridgeback but she loves riding motorcycles and I wouldn't wana change that.
I think the AIH was the right move. Those parts are a little easier to find. Starters, transmissions, etc. 10 years from now you'll still have options to buy NEW. At the moment it doesn't look like we will have any NEW starters or NEW transmissions just rebuilds and that's Today...what does 10 years hold for us? I don't know but I'm working on itHonestly I woulda liked to have gotten her a big dog but when looking at used ya gotta take a lot of things into consideration and as meticulous as I am and she expects me to be as well as making sure her fit and comfort is similar to what she is use to I think we made the right choice, hell i woulda gave her the pitbull and bought A 330 ridgeback but she loves riding motorcycles and I wouldn't wana change that.
Why is it that AIH is easier to find parts for and their lifespan was so much shorter? I didn't even know anyone was still making parts for them?I think the AIH was the right move. Yep everything on a Harley Softail/Big Twin will bolt up to an AIH. Starter or Transmission, easy peezy.Harley and Arlen ness parts and nothing was proprietary

So he bought another hardlyYep everything on a Harley Softail/Big Twin will bolt up to an AIH. Starter or Transmission, easy peezy.
Now let's be clear here. I'm going to split hairs here because it's Friday and I'm drinking and for the hell of it it but technically The DSSC transmission wasn't proprietary...its just Big Dog was the only one to use them. Baker did sell them for awhile on their own but nobody bought into it for the reasons we are seeing, starter and transmission are different. The whole idea of the DSSC was thin down the left side and they moved the starter down a little and thinned out the clutch assembly which is where the name comes from. Drop Starter Slam Clutch.
