I just got two in today from there. The 300 Avon was 11 months old and the 250 Pirelli is 6 months old. Mounted them anyway. We'll have them wore out before the end of the summer anyway.

Well that's a different tire ..lol

I've had good luck with avons the shinko debate still seems to be open. Seems like a few say they are great mileage wise, others have only got 3-4k miles.

Some are stubborn and swear by their preferred brand as I did metzeler until my last one.. don't get me wrong if it wasn't for the width I'd stick with em forever, but as far as shinko goes, takes me back to my dirt bike days when we would throw a cheap Cheng Chin on or a shinko just to get you a few months of playtime until u could afford a good tire.. so idk how they r in the street scene.

John Sachs says they race them, big in the race scene. Hook good, wear fast.

For only a $15 difference in the tire price id have to see longer mileage to change. If everyone was getting 8-10k out of a shinko I'd change for sure but just not seeing it yet. I know I can get 6-8k from an avon.

I've got 4500 miles right now on my 300 and it still looks good. I suspect I should be able to get at least another 1500-2000 out of it.

Well my last Avon gave me 1500 miles before it split apart, I'll avoid them for awhile. And I only put about 4-500 miles on it a year and since I got the Spyder, I'll be lucky to get that many miles on it a year.:)

Don't tell me they split.. Mustang been an old tire.. check ur DOT dates man!! Lol.. and I see that tire is getting a flat spot.. makes me feel good, cuz I would think that all tires this wide would get a flat spot.. bdm7250 sent me a pic with about 6k on his tires if I'm not mistaken and it was still round.. he says I'll like em.. I have no choice now.. already put a cobra on the front.. the back is coming within a few weeks.. as far as that shinko goes, I get caught in the rain quite a bit and doesn't seem to have any spying which scares me a bit.. I'd wait a few years until we get a true rating out of em.. ya dig

Absolutely, I run Shinko on my drag bike, they are hands down the tire of choice. Exactly as John says, hook like no other..:old2:
