Hahaha! That reminds me of something I heard recently, "Hardships are the pathway to Peace" If that's true Eric, you are about to find Utopia!

Haha..you know I've been through Utopia a few times on the bike.....they didn't let me stop..haha

It is getting old though. I've had it apart more times than I can count...mostly my fault too. But If I'm not trying I'm not learning.

I feel your pain Eric, I've been building a new 496 bbc for my crew cab dually. I've been working on it for a year in my spare time, this was one of those projects that nothing fit as it was designed to and made me earn every step of progress I made with it. I fired it up for the first time last week and after doing a 20 min cam break in, it died. Then it blew 3 three teeth off the pro balanced flexplate. So I had to seperated the engine and Trans to get it out. Bought a new fp and a $300.00 gear reduction starter only to find out the starter Still didn't work with the new fp. And I had scratched the new starter putting it in so I was unable to return it or swap out for a different starter. So now I have $650.00 in starters. And the truck still doesn't run. Waiting on ordered parts. Hang I. There bud sounds like you just about got dr whipped. Your not alone.

So let's get back to this oil pressure thing again just for a minute.
Usually first start of the day I'll give the bike a start and wait till it will idle on its own smoothly. Then a little gas to get it out of the driveway then coast down the hill about 200 feet to the stop sign 4 or 5 minutes tops. The coolest time out was about 46* so far.
Am I under the impression that a good warm-up is critical? And is four or five minutes enough?

Put your hand on the oil tank. it will tell you when you bike is warmed up.
How do you do that on a k9? Lol

You can also tell by oil pressure when it's warm if at idle it is under 30 it's on its way to being warm, prob good to go

I should have added the lower part of the motor to cover my ass. It ain't good to beat on your bearings while they are cold You could always test the temperature of the oil coming out the exhaust on some of these bikes.
Ball buster...

It's back together and appears to be good. Cam chest was flooded due to my pinched line and wouldn't allow heads to bleed down. It's interesting actually that really there isn't much oil passage back down through the heads. I read about some fueling lifters delivering 25% oil over stock on Harley's to the heads but I honestly don't think our engines would be able to bleed that down.

Need to take it for a ride still but I think I'm back in the clear for now.

I could have said you could feel the oil lines as well as long as they aren't kinked, but then that would have been kicking you in the nuts.
Well If I'm not having trouble with my bike I don't know who anyone would be helping. Been awhile since we had an actual issue other than a battery or starter..haha
