the insurance company came up with the value using my location, low mileage and overall condition
Ok ill give geico a call thanks for your input..progressive was putting a value of $5-$7,000 screw that i payed more than that for it just a few weeks ago! 14,000 miles on the s&s117 and everthing is in mint like new condition..they can kiss it with that value..i saw one the otherday at the dealership same as mine different paint color but they had it forn $22,000..again i know mine is worth that much but i was thinking more like $12,000-$14,000 like you mentioned..

I've got mine through State Farm. When I went down last year, I made up my own estimate and sent them links to several bikes for sale. They accepted my estimate and my $18,500 valuation. They considered the bike a total loss sent me a check for $14,500 & let me keep the bike with an unbranded title. So, I'd say I'm a huge advocate of full coverage I spent all the money on paying bills during my recovery, but without it, I'd probably been up a creek. image.jpeg

And what kind of coverage do you get woth that 500 dollar plan? What are they going to pay out if the bike was stolen or a total loss?
Check out Dairyland they specialize in MC insurance that's who I have nobody has been able to touch their rates. I just got new home and truck insurance my broker asked If I had anything else I said I got two bikes but I know you can't compete. He asked to let him try I said fine but I'm telling you your not gonna be close. After about 10 minutes he said yea I'm not close even with the multi policy discount. I pay $912 a year full coverage on both bikes about $15K each

HOG members get a 20% discount too.

Thanks for all.the input, im ganna have to do some more calling around..the companys i was getting quotes from were only going to pay out blue book value of less than $7,500 to as low as $5,000...with that amount of coverage it not worth getting full coverage..

I have state Farm on everything I own, they asked me what I wanted it covered at and at the time it was 18k and that's what it's covered for today.. my 07 k9 is covered for 438 every 6 months.. no complaints here.. and yes full coverage is the only way to go
