Damn near bought it today. Some A-Hole kid (with other kids in the car) cut right in front of me and then jammed his brakes so he could turn into a driveway. We were rolling about 45 or 50 on a city street at the time. Thank God the dude in the pickup to my left saw it and hit his brakes. Gave me just enough room for an emergency lane change to the left. Almost had to pull into the gas station at the corner and change my drawers. :panic: Screw it. Off tomorrow for a weekend ride to East Texas :chopper: Ride safe out there!! :old2:

When someone is going to make a left hand turn in front of me, or they are at a stop sign, on a side road, I look them right in the eye, so I can see if their looking at me. It's just a good habit to get in to. BUT, a couple months ago, A young lady was fixing to make a left, I was looking at her, and she was looking at me, and decided to turn anyway. Luckily she changed her mind, half way in my lane she stopped, and I missed her.

I know what you mean. I try to do the same, but sometimes...

No matter what you do it's going to happen so you need to be ready. Once I was going down a back road and saw a Lincoln coming the other way. No turn signals but they made a left in front of me on to a side road. I hit the brakes but slid into their front fender and then all the way down the side of the car taking off the mirror. I stopped rested against their rear fender and then they took off dumping me on the pavement. Got the bike back up but flooded it trying to start it. When I did get it started I went looking for them but didn't find them. So it's not just at a stop sign or light that this happens.

The other day I was on a 2 lane back road and came upon 3 cars in back of a garbage truck. The truck would stop in the road to load on garbage stopping us all. I thought just pass him you idiots... A little further up the road he put on his right hand turn signal and I pulled out in the left hand lane and hit it. He then made a LEFT hand turn which put him right in front of me. Lucky I got stopped and lucky there were no cars coming the other way. You never know...

So today I thought I would go for a ride and coming out of the 3rd driveway from my house, the neighbor comes down her driveway and never looks to her right and comes right out on the road as I'm going by her, then she hits the brakes and looks:oldbang:
What's the saying? most accidents happen close to home.:nonod::nonod:

It's all part of riding. You have to accept the fact that someday someone will pull out in front of you, or turn in front of you. Anyway you should of pulled the person out of the car and ...well you know what to do.

I lost a friend last Friday. He was headed west out of town, in the left lane. A school bus was in the right lane, making a right hand turn. A kid sitting at the stop sign, felt he was in the way of the school bus, and pulled out, right in front of Scott, who t-boned the kid. Totaled both the bike and the truck. He will be missed, great guy and family man.
