Riding Glasses Prescription Recommendations

I just lost my pair of prescription riding progressive sunglasses. I took them to Massachusetts and must have left them at the hotel who can't find them. I had previously used a pair from Mad Dog I had filled at my optometrist was about $200.

What pair do you all have, need to get a new pair ASAP.

My head is medium sized I'm not a big dude and need good wind resistance. I liked mad dogs because they had goggle straps as well as normal shades. Would like them to be progressive as well.

Damn I'm pissed knew I shouldn't have brought them.

Eric, Some years ago Roger loaned me a pair of Panoptx (now 7eye) glasses. They had foam eye cups to keep out the wind and dirt. I liked them so much I now have several pair and pretty much won't ride without them. My eyes are not nearly as gummy after 5-600 miles in the desert.
The downside to them is they can limit peripheral vision a bit, but this is why God invented mirrors. They come in several different styles and I'd recommend the yellow/gold transition lenses that are advertised as day and night. They do not get very dark, but definitely cut the glare of a bright day, and lighten up at night and allow surprisingly good night vision.
They are a little pricey and of course more so for prescription. Tons of them available on Fleabay.

Go get Laser surgery and never have to worry about it again. If your eyesight is not changing, it works perfectly. I have been without glasses for close to twenty years with no change in vision. It may have changed slightly from 20/15 to a somewhere between 20/15 and 20/20.

Thanks I'll look into those. My last one were the transition lenses which is nice not to have to bring multiple glasses on a trip.

I looked into the WileyX last night they wanted $500. I would hope I could find something a little cheaper. $300 just for the transition lenses

That's on my radar as well but don't think I'll be doing it soon enough not to need a pair of glasses now. Riding season is here!

I used sportrx.com before. They have a demo program. They will send you a pair of their branded stuff (usually a Bobster) if you like they will send you a new frame with your prescription.

That´s my next move.

But for the time being I swapped the glasses by Contact Lenses. MUCH Better!

I sue Wiley X SG with prescription lens made for them. Been very happy with them for open face riding, close full face-just regualr glasses under the shield

I have contacts and the optics on glasses are 10x better, can't even sit at a computer with contacts might be my astigmatism that leads to poor contact performance. I've ridden in contacts just fine but clarity in prescription lenses is worth every penny especially at night. For Me anyways!

My wife says mine are fugly! I love them though! Keeps the wind out of my eyes, diverts wind from under the glasses! Yes they are prescription w/ bifocals. And since they have side shields they pass OSHA standards!

I like my ray bans but they are a bit pricy with the prescriptions, but with being said and with the amount of money we pump into these bikes I would say a quality pair of glasses to protect the only 2 eyes that we have is a cheap investment. Just my opinion.

For riding the bikes I wear mono vision contacts (one eye for distance and one for near) which works for day time riding. For work (IT support) I wear my bifocal glasses and normally do not wear contacts on work days so I will wear prescription bifocal sunglasses if I go out during the day.

Take a look at Wal Mart I have bought some there 2 years ago and I'm still using them today. They have foam to keep the wind out and they have held up really well. Spent around $250.00 on frames and polarized black mirrored lenses.
