Crashed the Dog

Well I had a pretty good run, 43 years of riding without going down and then on Friday I had just passed a car and grabbed a little front brake to slow down a bit, it locked up and put me into a slide jammed the rear to try to straighten it back out and it whipped back to fast and I got thrown off, two days in the hospital, seven staples for a gash in my head and a concussion they said will probably take a month to straighten out and I'm back home. So to the reason I'm on here, I'm going to need a rear brake master cylinder, a rear turn signal housing ,throttle side, one of the small bags that fasten to the frame by the seat, and a yellow lense for my front turn signal.
Brian, I am glad to hear your ok, it could have been much worse! I actually went down on my bike a month ago but was very lucky! I was following a friend and he was hauling ass on a bagger into a turn that I was not familiar with and halfway into the turn my pipes are scraping and I realize that I ain't gonna make it so I think that if I just go wide into the grass along the road that I'll ride it out! Wrong! As soon as I hit the grass I was down! By some damn miricle I just got a little banged up nothing serious, I estimate I was going around 55 to 60 mph! Very lucky and all that happened to my bike was I broke the licence plate bracket off! Curtis fixed my up real quick! Glad to hear your ok, we both got lucky, hope you get well soon!

Got to be more careful, as we get older it takes a lot longer to heal:)

Glad to hear your doing ok. The wife and I always talk about wearing helmets and we should do it, but we just cant seem to do it - its just not the same ride. The thought of laying down the dog scares the shit outta me.
Yeah , they asked if I was wearing one at the hospital and I told them I never have and never will

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, The accident regret started to set in at the hospital and I started talking about selling the bike and my girls and wife all started laughing which ended up making me laugh and come back to reality. Choppers forever!

as far as the front brake I think a piston hung up, the bike is 11 years old and I never had to do anything to it's front brake but pads so I'm going to put a brand new caliper on it

I really admire your spirit, laying tin the hospital, after an accident, and you are on here looking for parts to fix you bike before you are even healed up!!!!!!!

Looking forward to retirement
There's more fun ways to get bucked off, like mounting your girl friend from behind, grabbing a hand full of hair, then telling her that her sister liked it like this! try to stay on for 8 seconds after saying that!!!!

Sorry to hear, glad it wasn't worse, and can't BELIEVE it took you 43 years to join the club. Heal well.

Glad to hear you're OK and not worse off. I had a similar incident happen to me. I was riding a local county road doing about 50 mph came out from under an overpass when a flock of turkeys starting to cross the road... I kind of panicked for a split second and locked up the front brake. I put my left foot down to keep the bike from going down. I don't know how I did it but managed to keep the bike upright. A little reality check there. Anyway, best of luck a speedy recovery.
