Nightmare

Recently acquired 05 big dog ridgeback from a tweeter that couldn't pay his bond. Wiring nightmare. It seems to me that everyone has had ehc issues and my guess is the reason for the demise of manufacturer . So my guess is the customers must foot the bill to correct poor design by the manufacturer which is quite costly and a real pain in my but.not to mention time consuming. I've installed the wire plus kit and everything lights up except ignition module and won't turn over or make a clicking sound or nothing . Can I get a clue from someone on what the issue is or a point in the right direction would help and be greatly appreciated. Cause next step is a bullet and a match . Lol thanks in advance

I have two suggestions that will improve chances of getting help.

1. Go to intro section and do an intro.

2. Boil the paragraph ^ above down to a few specific questions and facts about the bike and spare us the rant.

The economy killed Big Dog along with A bunch of other custom bike builders. Sorry for you issues. If you look at some of the threads on here you will find plenty of info to get you going. Good luck.

first post is NEVER a bitch session. not a good way to make friends with knowledge. unless maybe you are on "club chopper", and then they would tell you to take yourself and your Big Dog and get the fuck off their site lol.

How about 1. Thanks for taking the time to give guide lines for asking for technical advise I must have missed that part when signing up. 2. Being rude is not an endearing quality and I missed where it required me to restrain my frustration or opinion for your sake . Censorship always wins people over so thanks I'm greatful knowing you're in charge . . . Oh wait you are in charge right? This sight belongs to you right? Dick nazi twat waffle

Well that went well.... The poor guy is having big problems and all you guys can come up with is BS? Great site for help...
I'm glad I don't need your great help... Your advice is as good as BD electronics...

My advice: 1 trash the WP.
2: old school wire it and be done or go through every wire until you find out what's wrong and a lot can be wrong. Good luck...

Also since I can't find the edit button, I'd start at your ign switch and make sure it is connecting to the starter relay. Seems like it's not turning on the relay... and Club chopper is a great site... You may want to go there for some good advice...

It's always nice to hear from you Bill. The edit button is right under you're name in blue letters. It is hard to see and it only works once. Well maybe it will work more than once.

Thanks. I see you were willing to help too. You know, it's frustrating when your bike won't run or something is wrong so you come in from the garage, get on the computer and try to find a solution. Ya, you're mad, worried and frustrated so you type that way. We have all been there and this guy just joined so he doesn't know the "ways" of the forum. Ya all need to give new guys a break and try to help so they become a member. It's nice to know there are still a few guys left that will help.

Well welcome and sorry that you are having problems from day one. Not much I can offer on the WP Kit, however if you did the kit install, would double and maybe triple check all the connectors against the schematics and instruction. If nothing sticks out, then pull out the multi-meter and start checking the continuity on the connectors from source back. Focus on components not working.

Also give it sometime and hopefully others with more knowledge than me will help you on specifics for the WP (I have a PDM in mine).

In regards to why BD went under, I would say economy most of all, pretty much same reason that others did too as well as say why HD shut down Buell and sold off M/V Augusta. Electronics may be a week point on the later BD, however I think for the majority of one sold, no problems overall and there is many members on here that still have the original EHC with no issues. Hell even HD just issued a recall for over 100,000 MC for 2014 and 2015 due to faulty clutch, and not let's forget the nearly 34 million recall for Air Bags going out soon.

Get it fixed and start riding and you will be happy as most of us are here.

When you get a chance, post an intro also, never know may find a good riding buddy or someone near you that can help you out.
