EHC RIP INSTALLATION. HELP

Well we obviously have communications problems as I replied to you the minute you messaged me. I think that my issue might be with Microsoft outlook as I clicked on the link you sent me and wrote back but never heard anything back. If the RIP is truly plug n play then how can it be wired wrong?

Yep, but I did just receive and answer your email so I think were on the same page now...LOL

I have had a couple of customers that wanted to over think the installation and they went off on their own which got them in trouble. I'm not here to brow beat or chastise though. I like to keep things positive and moving forward so thank you for getting back to me via email and we will get you straightened out.

and I'm not here to criticize KMW or praise anyone else. Just sharing my experience with the kit. I purchased it because it was marketed as best thing out there and plug n play. So far it hasn't been my experience. I also think that the installation instructions could be a little clearer. And last as I said to you in my email I am grateful for your help; it is kind of strange that KMW hasn't even answered me

I had been considering the RIP but after the non quality control I have seen of this product I will be reconsidering.

well I ordered my r.i.p kit for my 04 ridgeback. should be here next week. ill try and maybe take some pics and post my install. I have already familiarize myself with the bikes wiring and looks like it should be a pretty straight forward install. will see. lol.

If the RIP kit fries because they wired it wrong they cover it 100%.
If you fry something because "YOU" don't know what your doing of course they will not warranty it. I have had a couple of instances where customers made mistakes and KMW jumped right on it and took care of them.
I can't think of a supplier, off the top of my head, that will even consider letting you return electronic components installed or not ya shit stirrer..........:D
I understand completely. All I wanted to do is make Dan aware that is the case and who's to say it was their fault or Dans? I bought a hard drive and when I plugged it in it failed. They wouldn't take it back because they said it was "operator error" B.S. All I did was plug it in.

Dan isn't getting a response from the company so it doesn't look good. I hope you can help....

RIP KIT

Easier then the wire plus. First installation was half the time. Couldn't believe it all worked without any problems. If you have a problem with RIP KIT. Most likely something most have been changed on you're bike. Definitely the best plug and play system available.

Nothing changed on my bike. It was running properly except for the high beam and speedo, and after I changed over I ended up with no sparks. Could be something I overlooked, something died in the 90 minutes it took me to do the switch, or a defective unit. Curtis is pointing me in the right direction so as soon as I have time I will troubleshoot. Hopefully it is something minor

So basically the RIP system is coming down to the quality of the WP system which everyone said was the best thing since pussy. Are we ever going to learn?

The RIP kit is a quality product that has no resemblance to the Wire Plus in any way shape or form.
I have local customers using it with no issues, that I have installed, and a number of customers who have bought and installed it themselves with no issues.

Matt

sent to Matt Moore this afternoon (again). Curious to see if I'll get a reply or if they'll just watch the calendar and wait for warranty to expire. I've had better luck with the captain and DOC trying to resolve the issue then I've had with KMW

Ordered this last March and was sitting on shelf until 2 months ago. After removing the EHC and replacing with RIP I get no spark. Find the instructions lacking for install as well as troubleshooting. Sent you an email 2 months ago and so far no replies. Can you walk me through the process of checking the RIP to make sure problem isn't there?

r.i.p

well I installed my r.i.p kit over the last 3 days! finished putting the bike together today! and had some issues, first was the right blinker front and rear wont flash. also front brake lite wont work, also headlight wont come on but the indicator on the speedo did light up when I hit high beam. everything else appeared to work. and last but not least I went to start the bike it cranked for 1 sec then that was it, would not crank or nothing, im going to charge the bat just to rule that out and see what I end up with after I do that.

I have had the wire plus system since 08' and besides some things that I messed up after rebuilding the pit bull the damn thing has been spot on.. I wouldn't compare any of these systems to being as good as pussy but.. I do like the WP.. Not the best customer service but not the worst either they have responded to my questions promptly when needed.

The majority are installing the R.I.P. kit without incident or issue.
The Wire Plus, for Big Dog, is a ridiculously bulky affair with what can be touchy modules if they aren't handled right. If you have one and its working for you that's great but I won't sell them or install them as long as something like the R.I.P. kit is available.
