On how to remove the round bracket so I can replace the bulb in the headlight. I don't want to bend or scratch it up.

Thanks

Remove set screws on the bottom of the bucket that secure the ring and put a pair of latex gloves on to give you grip, righty tighty, lefty loosy

After you remove the set screws, I have a pair of rubber dipped gloves, they are called sure grip. They make it easy to grab the chrome ring and spin it out. If it has some dirt in the threads, you might have to tap on it with a rubber mallet. use some silicone spray on the threads when you put it back together.

Hummmmm it sounds like we have a different set up?

Yes to the little screws underneath.... but then I dont have to spin anything.... I just pull it out with a suction-cup.

The threads are very fine, and easy to cross thread when putting back together

No threads whatsoever on mine.... I will be home this Friday... I will take pics.

The screws underneath are the only thing that holds the optic/ring in place.

i wrapped my fingers in duct tape sticky side out and that worked to get the trim ring off,, unscrew the set screws first on the bottom of the bucket and with a small allen wrench

Got all the set screws out but there's no way to spin that trim ring off. I marked it with a piece of black tape. I had some latex gloves on and still no way it would spin off.

Don't give up just yet. Like was said above. Latex gloves and a firm grip should get it. I had the same problem with mine 2 years ago when I changed the bulb out. Tried and tried and it finally came loose.

So the trim ring is definitely threaded?

Trim ring is threaded. I changed mine by lightly tapping with a screw-driver. Let me once again say lightly!!

Put your thumbs on the ring and your fingers on the outside of the bucket and squeeze and twist your thumbs, work around it.

Or stand behind the light and you can use all your fingers to pull in and twist at the same time. It worked on mine.
