Ok guys not sure what to look for here. Have 07 Bulldog EFI with 2800 miles on it. Had wire plus installed a few weeks ago. Bike seems to be working fine. Today the light came on while on ride. Stopped for a bit, restarted and light came back on as soon as I started it. Any idea's what to look for? Bike seems to be running fine.

Yes, the red check engine light. Have not started today but it did the same thing two times on Saturday at a rally, and stayed on til I got home.

My '07 Bulldog did the same thing to me yesterday. Ran great... light just came on for the rest of the day. 91 degree outside temps.

Uhm that's a low oil pressure light guys not a "Check Engine" light.
If that light is coming on you need to check your oil level. If the oil level is good then you need to get a gauge on the oil system and make sure your getting the proper oil pressure. It could just be a bad oil pressure switch but its better to be safe than sorry.

You can also get the low pressure light in hot weather with a low idle. But, I would check your oil level, change it when due, and put a pressure gauge on your bike to backup your pressure switch.

Isn't there two red lights on the speedo? One for check engine and the other for oil pressure? On mine the check engine is on the left and the oil pressure is on the right.

One Low oil pressure on left side and an OVER temp on the right I think.

I'll have to check it again.

Must be an EFI thing?

I got one light it's red when oil pressure drops to less than 2 PSI, I think. I'll get it on my 04 Rigid when I brake hard because the oil pickup is in the back of the tank rather than the front so the oil sloshes to the front. Why they put the pickup in the back I will never know. If I fill it up enough so that it doesn't do that on hard stops it's overfilled and the oil just blows out. Can't win that battle, trust me I tried and lost everytime!

There is an issue with wire plus units on EFI bikes, causing it to throw a false check engine light. Jake had an extra harness to fix the problem, do you know if your WP has it?

Yes, the EFI bikes have both oil pressure light and a "malfunction indicator light". I have tried a few things but the MIL still comes on the last few times I've started the bike. The engine runs fine and everything is working properly. I called S&S three months ago when the light came on the first time and they told me that if the engine is running ok, you will not hurt the engine but you might get stranded somewhere because you "might" have an electronic issue coming on (ECU). They told me to download the ProTuneII software and hook it up to the bike to see any alarms. Never did this because the light never came back on until the other day after riding 150+ miles. I have downloaded the ProTuneII software but have not tried to hook it up as I am not very good with computer crap. I was hoping the light coming back on was a result of stalling the bike at a stop sign for the first time shortly before I noticed the light on. This is getting frustrating as it seems noone really knows the causes. In fact, when I first had the light come on and and called S&S it was 45 degrees out that day. I searched the forum here and there were several posts saying that their light comes on when it is cold out but doesn't come on when it is warmer out.... Any one out there with EFI experience? BTW, I do not have the WP installed.

Wire+ had a module available for EFI and I think PKNOWELS has used it on his 07 Bulldog install but the LED still glowed.

You need to download proTune and check for faults. It is not difficult to do.

The wire plus resister is only to stop the dimly glowing light, nothing to do with an actual fault.

I have a 09 Wolf with EFI. The check engine light has come on and off at various times over the past several months. I have checked everything and all seems normal. Thought it might have gotten too hot, low on oil, and other things. The engine ran fine with no loss of power. Finally the light came on and will not go off, so in the shop it goes. After two days workings with S & S on the codes from the proTune program they have determined it is the fuel pressure regulator that is causing the problem. We now have one on order from S & S. Lets hope this solves the problem.

Installing oil pressure gauge today to work through the problem. Let me know if the fuel pressure regulator works out. Seems strange that a low oil pressure light would be fixed with a fuel regulator?

OK guys here's my issue with engine light. Installed S&S module so now I can tune my bike, checked alarms and the alarm I presently have is " PO173 bad sites rear" googled and cannot find anything?????

My lights functioned properly after the wire+ install and the added resistor. I the low fuel light doesn't work after I installed the medallion speedometer. Might be something I did, but it's hard to mess up with just 4 wires in the bucket that was changed.

2010 efi bagger here. my light come's on and still ride's fine. It usually come's on when I'm riding hard which happens almost every time I ride. I'm used to it and I keep riding since when I shut it off, it usually re-calculates and goes off. You could also re-set the ehc manually. Look it up in the search function.
