2003 chopper wheel bearings

I'm almost positive that your wheel bearings are the same as newer models. I have a "How To" on bearing and changing tires.
Plus there are many threads here on bearings with a simple search.

You better check before buying, my 02 Husky had Timken roller bearings, not the sealed type that is used in the newer models. Drag specialty has a complete kit for the Timken style bearings, 2 bearings, 2 matching races, 2 rubber dust covers, $20.00. The Drag part# A25-1002. The Timken # is LM11949 for the bearing, and LM 11910 for the races.

Still a little confused. Going off Ray's thread is the front 6204 2RS -12 or 6205 -16RS? I ones i keep finding are 6204RS Sealed Bearing 20x47x14 Ball Bearings 6204RS. Are front and rear yhe same?

So i said to hell with it and jacked up the bike was gonna just take a look at the old bearings to make sure i ordered right...and upon closer inspection noticed the brake pads have alot of gunk and were grabbing a little...but i also noticed something scary....the bracket that holds the caliper was loose as shit! I though the vibrations and pops and creaks i would intermittently hear was the bearings...turns out the whole caliper was getting ready to fall off...wow...glad i didnt decide to procrastinate and keep riding till it sounded worse...gonna pull everything off take the caliper apart and pistons out and clean everything up.then ill make sure to use some locktite when putting it back on....gonna order a set of bearings anyhow so next tire change ill go ahead and replace those as well...

If anyone is still paying attention.... tried to tighten the bracket...screw broke off in the fork...fml...tried to drill it out a little but i got scared to drill too deep...so i put a piece of rubber tape between the bracket and the fork and tightened the one screw...used locktight...i realize this needs to be fixed right but i figured ill take it easy on the front brake and check it often until i figure out what to do..hopefully i dont need a new fork...also any tips on refilling the brake line? Steps to refill and bleed manually? In the past i have filled it..let it sit overnight to help the air naturally rise out and then bled what seems like forever...is there a faster way without buying the vacuum? Sorry i have so.many questions i will pay it back with answers as i learn and as i can thanks..

I wouldn't advise you ride the scoot with only one mount bolt in that front caliper. If you have to make a sudden stop, it would be a good feeling knowing you can lean on both brakes for optimal braking action. Going light on the front and heavy on the rear can put you in a skid in order to get stopped or may lead into a crash... 
You said the brake assy was loose? It makes me think that the shims might be missing between the mount bracket and the caliper. You might want to check that. Both of my scoots have two shims at each mounting point. If you use an ease-out be careful and dont break the bit off in the bolt, it can be a bitch getting the bolt out then. Good luck at getting it fixed...:2thumbs:

Don't ride that scoot like that. If you can't fix it then send it to us and we will fix it for you. We just did one for another member that had a similar issue.

As for bleeding the brakes see my advanced how to thread.
As for the bearings. You have a 3/4" axle on the front and a 1" axle one the back. We can get you bearings.

The bearings classification is 12/16" or 3/4" for front. Rear is 16 or 16/16" as in 1".

This is the bracket im talking about. Im thinking i may be able to take it to a local machine shop and have it re-drilled. I dont think they can get a bolt in the original spot but a second bolt on thay side somewhere should secure it. Im just scared to drill free hand and go too deep

Ray i appreciate your offer and no i will not be riding until its fixed. I hate when a small problem becomes a big one..im not sure why it was loose in the first place seems i couldnt tighten it enough. There is what looks like a piece of keystock between the bracket and fork. Idk if there was any shims supposed to be there or not.
Yes there is a piece of key stock on the fork tube, behind the bracket, no shims. I had the same thing happen, bolt was broken off. I pulled the wheel, caliper and brackets off, then there was enought of the broken bolt sticking out to use visegrips to turn it out. Even if there is not enought sticking out, drill the broken bolt a little with a small drill bit and use a small easyout to turn it out. Then run a thread chaser in the hole to clean
it out, get a new bolt.

Yeah mine broke off less than flush lol...i tried drilling it but those bolt are hard..i spread the hole wider before i knew it...busy with cristmas but next weekend im gonna see what i can do...maybe a super small bit will get in there..just scared of how deep i may go i dont want to spring a fork oil leak.
