To all my East Coast compadres, this damn Sandy is not looking good at all and is expected to give many of us hell and possibly historic weather. With that in mind, my best wishes for eveyone to be safe, get through what ever this bitch will throw our way and to be very attentative to the changes.

Do not wait till the last moment to get ready, do not take her lightly and pray that evedn if you spend the next few days getting bunkered up like the last surviallist in some hidden Montana cave and nothing happens, better to laugh it off than regret later.

Prayers to everyone on the east and for me ready to ride the bitch out a little bit inland, but not looking good none the less. Generator is fuel, chain saw is sharp, water is stocked, prtable heaters ready to go.

Bring it on bitch.

not enough time 4 riding
Grocery stores are busier than usual today and the lines at the gas station look like the lines before a holiday weekend. Worse case scenario, I can go the 6.5 miles to the office since it will have power since we have already activated the Disaster Operations Center.

Tim, hope that Falling Waters remains the name of that town near you and not what you get hit with.

I did all my prepping yesterday, generator, chainsaw, food. All lawn furniture into the shed. I'm at work now, hopefully I won't be held over tomorrow. I gotta board up one bay window in the front of the house. They are hiring extra guys for all the rigs starting tomorrow and group 1 who is working monday when sandy is supposed to hit has to come in 12 hours early. This could really suck. Still no definite track, looks like the eye will come in south of us. We will see

i thought i was the only one who missed a day on the dog to work around the farm to get ready for this storm. could be ugly. everything ready to go.
my wife went to the store and said it was a mad house. I told her i would give her $500.00 if she loaded at least a hundred rolls of toilet paper into her cart and checked out. she said the store was full of assholes like me.
---hope it is not a long storm.

Saw many out riding today and it did cross my mind. But try to let my sense guide me and spent the day preparing.

Everything is ready to go, emergency euipment ran, extra gas, water, videls, batteries, etc.

Had to make a run to Home Depot and picked up a couple of Katrina Blue Tarps in case take any damage, as well as few other items. Was a mad house for sure and common supplies were going quickly, glad I had bought my generator a few years ago for by the look of it, anyone with an extra generator coupld have got a year of free Special Zumba lessons from the Kennebunkport Maine legend.

Hopefully it is not bad as they are thinking, but it is looking very interesting and making a turn with a good left hook that no one has seen before right into another.

Everyone be safe, all in the prayers.

Getting winds here in NC, I am inland (Sanford/Raleigh) and we are expected to get winds up to 40mph. Our beaches are supposed to be up to 60 mph. Not bad here but I feel for everyone north of us. Stay safe and please don't wait until the last minute. Take care everyone!

Unfortunately it looks like we are going to take a direct hit here in New Jersey. Not to mention it appears as though its going to be a slow mover passing through. We need this like a hole in the head. Anyway be safe to all.

National Data Buoy Center This is a great site for tracking the storm with real time info. Just looked and in the offshore canyons out ahead of the storm you have seas approaching 30'. This is just one of the sites that I monitor while our equipment is working offshore.
