wow...i guess i missed this...i as others rely on this forum for some of the best hands on information for working on my passion...but im with others this needs confrontation...yea you can ban his ip, but computers are cheep and whats to keep him from starting over and causing trouble as another identity. i guess thats why we have tim to catch it and nip it in the bud. confrontation, explain it will stop, then ban? has he cheated any members?

We may all suspect who it is, but if the identity is not revealed, we may have a wrong/unfounded belief about one of our members generated by this thread. For this reason alone, I voted to ban and reveal, but would have no issue with an offer of public explanation to the offender first.

Hopefully, this thread and poll will be enough for the person(s) involved to step up and explain what is going on. I do not remember ever seeing any rule that limited a person/entity to a single ID, but I think that if a person had a "personal" ID and a second as their "business" ID, that at some point the line between the IDs would get blurred and a situation like this would arise.

If the person(s) involved do not respond by the end of the week, they have shown the type of people that they are and should be banned.

I don't trust anyone that comes on here and in just a few posts and in less than a week is telling me how great a vender is. That being said I'm not purchasing anything from anyone here without them being a long standing forum member or a supporting business. It's either that or use/purchase from my local shops to support them so they'll be around for me later. There has been some serious sales pitching going on. It just hurts someones credibility in my mind to try so hard to convince someone what a great person/shop they've had an experience with. I think if the one I believe we're talking about is going to stay he should become a supporting business. It's only fair to the long stranding venders on the site already. I'm not for banning any of the three mentioned without hearing their side of the story however. As Fibersnake has stated they could be using a shared computer.

Ban all 3 ! lol I was wondering the same thing how all these new accounts gave him such great reviews. One even posted one of his pics as an avatar. :loony: It really confirmed it when they all put BAKER in all caps ! lol

i think we need more information on who it is,and what was posted. if you really believe there is something shady going on,you are letting all the other members down on here by not calling them out on it publicly.see how they respond, maybe itcan be worked out, maybe it can't.

Within a couple posts he came across as an arogant self absorbed prick. Then another user pops up with the same writing style and arogance... Not sure but did he really think no one would know? Is this a good way to get new business? Turned me off real quick.

Sad part is his shop is close by but based on his internet persona, I'd never go there.

I am on this forum a lot. I read just about every post. It doesn't take long to realize when someone is full of it. For someone to make 3 accounts so they can look good or make a buck is pretty sad. As far as banning someone they would probably just find a way to get back on and start over again. I say call them out on it and post the names of the accounts and let the forum members handle it. Those accounts will quickly disappear. Even if they open another account the members will quickly catch on and put a stop to it. This has happened before, it doesn't happen often, but it does occur. Post the names of the account and let it play out.

Just noticed one of our members has logged on this morning, read this thread and has logged off. :D Wonder if he'll be back :hi:

Looking forward to retirement
I haven't been on this site long, but I have been riding for over 20 yrs and I am now heading in a different direction than I use to be. I am equiping my bikes different and I have been asking ALOT of questions that I need NO BULLSHIT answers to. What I am doing is expensive so I have to TRUST the answers ya'll give me to be truthful! My dad told me 40 yrs ago you are put on this earth with nothing but your self respect. No one owes you anything, you must earn everything in life. Trust, respect,& honor. Never compromise these things or you will be lost forever!

I think all 3 accounts should be banned and expose who it is. If they are willing to decieve us here to get our business no telling what kind of lies they are willing to tell. I dont want to get fucked if i can avoid it. Thanks

Tim, obviously this bothers you as it should.
Being a long standing member of this forum I have come to appreciate the fair and just positions you have taken on many matters affecting this forum.

I feel very grateful to be a member here and have enjoyed this forum, I want to thank Tim and all the Supporting businesses for all the work which made this site possible.

Tim, you asked for discussion, my thoughts are you should have spoken to Vince81 (I assume that is who you are referring to) before you made this thread. You may be correct, but the man's name is already tarnished by not giving both sides of the story. You may be a little biased because in an earlier thread you made a statement about him not being a supporting business here

Owning / running this forum can not be an easy task. Ultimately, all of us benefit from your efforts.

For the long timers on here, this forum and the members are more like close friends and family than a message board we might go to for info. For the newbies, it will become that way for you as well if you embrace the brotherhood/sisterhood of BDB.com.

With that said, if you are not an "above board" person, I take that as disrespect. No matter who you are, close friend, family member or foe, I do not accept disrespect. It is one of the few things that can be offered to all with little to no effort. But, once disrespected, I am done and I don't look back. I would be willing to bet that there are many on here that feel the same as I do.

Thank you for considering the membership's opinions before making the decision with your forum.

Ban Deceptive Accounts/Members

As Moderator, I support your banning any members, accounts, or business supporters that show themselves to be deceptive or dishonest to this forum. I don't need to know who violated this trust, but would like to know of examples. Quiet often I read member responses to questions, personal experiences, or recommendations that I don't agree with or don't believe to be sound, however I don't believe these to be intentionally deceptive or dishonest. "In good faith" is the what I like to see.

I've ran a forum board before. You encounter all types of people from all walks of life. Sometimes you have to do the tuff shit and get rid of folks before they can cause long term damage. Do what ya gotta do..... can't please everyone all the time.
