New XXX Carb and Wimmer Dual Runner

Energy One

Just got my new XXX Taz from Bob and installed it yesterday with the Wimmer Dual Runner intake with Squatty Filters.

The whole setup looks great. The XXX with blue thunder jets and hoses is sweet. I first mounted the dual runner facing forward and it was in the way of my break peddal. Then I faced them up which still looks bad ass, but is still slightly in the way because of the squatty filters. I plan on facing them back forward, but getting the 90/90 pipe that will go up and over the forward facing 90 pipe in front and that will give me plenty of clearance.

Next upgrade will be a cam and then I will get it dyno'd.

Thanks everyone! Ya I like the look of them turned up too although cuz I have the short squatty filters and 2.5 peg extensions there are some clearance problems. I might just have to get the stacks like T.Byrd for when they are turned up and keep the squatty filters for when I want them facing forward. I will still need to get the 90/90 bend for the rear filter to go over the the top instead of the bottom. The Wimmer Dual Runner is a several $100 more than the S&S, but you do get a shit load of options and can change the look w/o changing the whole intake.

Performance whise, the bike runs great. W/o making any adjustments to the XXX it ran like a charm and I did notice some gains in power. Next I will get a cam and maybe ignition, then get it dyno'd.

nice lookin setup...have you rode it yet? any difference? why the 2 thunderjets?
I did notice a difference, but I didn't make any adjustments to the carb. It ran good right out of the box, but that doesn't meen it can't run better. I think once i put the cam/ignition in it all come together.

RuDaug, you know you could have bought the other long elbo that when it comes out it goes up instead of down and the back filter would have been over the front one and out of your foot controls way. Just a thought. It is about 1oo bucks.

Yep T.Byrd, I am waiting for it in the mail. Lee at Wimmer has been good to exchange or send stuff to make sure I got it set up the way I want it.

Does look nice. I am not to far from you as i am in Crestview and work on Eglin. When I get back from deployment I plan on taking the bike to a Dyno just to see where I am at. I have heard the Harley shop in Dothan is nice.

Thanks Jason! When do you get back? I work at Eglin also. So does 1BADK9. I will be headed to DerkaDerkaStan in July. We will definitly get in contact.

Yep I have heard good things about the dealer in Dothan also. There used to be a Big Dog dealer there a few years back. I am not sure if they are one and the same. I plan on going to H&D Cycles in AL about 40 miles from the house on 98. I plan on adding a Wood Cam and they are a dealer that installs a bunch.
