Anyone else ever had problems with the shifter getting hung up when going from a higher gear to lower? I have to pull shifter up with foot. I have lubed it twice and that does ok for a week or two. Could it be the shifter rod out of adjustment? When I do it by hand, I can feel the shifter rubbing against the other part of shifter..................where the gap is. No biggie......just aggravating.

It is your Heim Joints binding..mine did the same thing...replaced them and no
problem....I would try taking yours off first and lube them up good and work with
them to loosen them up a bit..

Go ahead and find you some without the teflon inserts and replace them. Not worth the trouble lubing them. I had the same problem with mine. The teflon inserts will expand when they get hot and bind up. Replaced no more problem.:2thumbs:

Any idea where to buy them? It doesnt just do it when its hot.....or from frictions. It will do it even after sitting a few days...............before even cranking it.

After looking at it and moving it again, it really just seems like the shifter itself is rubbing the other billet part that the shifter is connected to. Well, I guess if the joints or out then that would throw everything else off...............just seems like the shifter is rubbing the billet part itself. Learning as we go.

When you remove the heim joints they should rotate freely with your fingers. Get you some new heim joints and you may want to grease the shifter also. BDM wasn't known for putting too much grease in anything. I think the heim joints are 5/16" X 24 threads per inch, one right hand and one left hand. When you put it back together be sure to clock the shifter to the middle of the shifter range.

I would pull the lower control apart first and grease it up check bushings etc. At that point you could also pull off your shifting rod and lube up the heim joints. If you cannot get the heim joints to move then replace um.

Busting knuckles on Mopars lol
