I knew riding a chopper would be different then my Softail, but I didn't really know how much different.
First, the K-9 sits so much lower then the Harley... I like it.
Second, this bike is heavier then the Harley, but the K-9 is so well balanced that standing it up is effortless. When I first sat on it, and pulled it off the kick stand, I had to catch myself because I didn't need as much effort. The K-9 feels tremendously lighter the my Softail. The difference was huge!!
Third, this bike is very responsive... HOLY CRAP! Crack the throttle the tiniest bit and you are moving. The Harley doesn't come close to the power, nor does it respond like the K-9. The K-9 feels tight, truly a high performance machine.
Fourth, the ride. I like the stiffer suspension, I felt more in touch with the road. Over bumping sections, my ass did leave the seat a little, but I just slow down when I see it coming now. I am truly impressed with the feel of the bike, reminds me of the Vette I used to have. It's not a harsh suspension, but it just feels right.
Fifth, the handling does take some getting used to, but it didn't take long. The roads were wet when I had left the dealership so, I took it easy anyway. I had to get used to the turns mainly due to the feel of the bike and how much lighter it felt over the Harley.
Sixth, the seat felt much harder to the touch then my Danny Gray seat, but it was far more comfortable. I think due to the over all size and width, the seat made for a comfortable ride. That was really surprising to me. I rode 3 hours to get home and maybe the last 20 minutes I started to move around a little. I could maybe ride a hour on the Harley and felt like I needed a break.
Seventh, the riding position felt great. I was more stretched out on the K-9 and really enjoyed it. It just felt right. I remember asking Raywood about the gas tank blocking the wind like my windshield did, and he was right on about it.
Eighth, 6 speeds rule!!! I love having that extra gear. Cruising on the highway at 75-80 was nothing. I was doing the break-in thing and would change speed constantly, along with going between 5th and 6th gear, and 6th was nice. Big difference in how much vibration you feel, mainly in the foot pegs.
Last, the attention is immediate. I wasn't out of the dealers parking lot for more then 2 minutes before I started noticing the stares and smiles. Some chick in a Tahoe was checking it out and had a huge smile on her face... she was diggin' it all. Timmy likes!! :2thumbs:
I love this bike, and I can't wait to get home, get my girl on the back, and just go for a nice long ride. She wasn't home when I bought the bike so I sent her some pictures, she LOVES it!!
The bottom line is my K-9 is an amazing bike. Great ride, awesome looks and some serious balls.

I new I would love the bike so much, that I never even took it for a test ride!:2thumbs: I also like that fact that you don't have to reach for the bars.....its like a comfortable riding position. With 3076 miles on it now.....I have been enjoying every ride I take on it
