I have a chance to purchase a 2009 mastiff from a dealer in Tn. can't remember the dealer name but the bike has real like flames and only has 800 miles on it do you think 24,000 is a good deal on this bike?

Shop around. You can find better on a used bike. Even though it is an 09 its still used and many here can tell you of better deals elsewhere around the country. But if it's what you want then get it. You won't regret it.

I will add that if that price includes tax, license and other fees then it could be a good deal.

Which one is going to give you the full 2 year warranty? There are many 08 and new bikes going for 20,000 around the country if you shop around.
But still if you want it then you can't go wrong getting it if you have the cash.

Many dealers advertise on CycleTrader and Chopper4sale. Just do some research before jumping in and you can save a few bucks in your wallet.

Do you think it would be better to get a 09 brand new coyote for 24,000?
I wouldn't pay $24k for a Coyote. That'd be throwing money away.

These bikes are worth whatever you're willing to pay for them, but for your own good, take advantage to a bad economy. I wouldn't pay over $20k for a K9.

Shop smart. If you are willing to travel to TN, there's a 2008 Mutt for $14.5k on Craigslist.

I would look for like a 2007 or 2008 K9 for $15-18k and save $10k+.

Honestly I echo what others have said...

I wouldn't pay anything over something in the teens. Closer to mid teens the better. Everything will come with a 2 yr past new warrenty. So even if you get something with 9 months warrenty that will at least give ya a chance to shake it down a bit with a warrenty to help.

However, I think a better question is... how is your wrenching skills? What do expect out of a bike? Have you owned a bike before?

Well im a mechanic in the army. Yes I owned a 03 vstar 1100 until I wrecked last yr. I want an eye turner and a good, reliable american bike. I do not like the way harleys look and plus they all look the same.

Well so you can wrench....check.

Do you mind keeping a wrench next to the bike in the garage? These aren't turn key metric bikes. They shake rattle and roll cool. Shake things loose and just in general need a wrench more often.

I lov to turn wrenches but I don't want a headache. I lov the big dog models. I want a good deal on a good bike. I have a dealer here in IL with a new 09 coyote for OTD 24500. Then there is a dealer in TN with a 09 mastiff with chrome package only 800 miles for 24000 plus 500 delivery and of course I will have to pay IA taxes on it since im registering it in IA. I only payed 4000 for my VStar so forking out 20000 or so for a bike has me a little worry. I dont want to get screwed is my biggest thing.

is the mutt a good bike? what part of TN for craiglist? How would i know I'm getting a good bike?
It's in Spring Hill. I don't really know anything about the Mutt, other than the fact that this particular one in pictures looks similar in size to a Mastiff except it has spoked wheels and a 250 rear tire.

BIG DOG MUTT 2008

I don't know the guy, so I won't vouch for him, but I'm sure he's legit. He's been trying to sell it a while and has came down from like $20k I think.

If you find a bike local to me, I'd be more than happy to look at it, hear it run, and take pics of it for you. I don't mind traveling to find a good deal. I went to Oklahoma for mine.
