Billet Aluminum gas cap with brass 45 Cal shells

After my post on the gas cap I had made for my bike, there have been a few people write about getting one.

I have a few left over as I had to buy more than one to have my design made. I finished the ones I have left so if you want one now is the time.

They are milled from a solid piece of aluminum, then 45 Cal brass shells with deactivated primers are added. They replace the chrome cap piece on your stock cap. (not for fuel injected)

I think Gas was referring to you getting the stock cap, making the switch so you have 2 complete set ups.

If the pitbull takes the same cap as the regular bikes, then yes it will fit perfectly.

Nice looking cap, however (correct me if wrong); appears that the plastic threaded section from old is re-used. If so that is one of the biggest problems. If not and the cap has machine metal threads, is there right hand and left hand caps available.

I have a Fat Bob style tank on the 05 Mastiff and would like to find some cool caps that are high quality but iwth left and right hand threaded available.

Any ideas?

The plastic thread is re-used, but I am not familiar with the problem with them (unless it is the difficulty in removing or unscrewing the cap from the tank). My original gas cap was a royal pain to try to screw on and off. I simply took an exacto knife and shaved a little off the threads of the plastic and it has worked great ever since.

With this new cap, I can even get a better grip on the cap so it goes on and off smoothly and easily.
