I didn't realize you had that many issues with your bike. Anytime you build a custom project there will be a few tweaks. That being said, you don't need to make any excuses. That is what you want to do and that is all that matters.

At the end of the day, its about what I want. This is not nearly as much change as when I went from sportbikes to the chop. And people couldn't believe it then.
Hey Gas, That's what matters: "What YOU want"!

I belong to a little Mom & Pop club where most of them ride Gold Wings. I like those folks but really don't go on many rides with them and when I do, I most often take my Heritage Springer. For the most part I (and I think They) don't feel I fit in. But I have to hand it to them that they have ride schedules (and not short ones) planned out a year in advance. They are all a great bunch of people (many retired) and they DO INDEED RIDE.

Last fall Linda and I went on a ride with them to Caliente, NV and we rode our springer. On the way back, John the pres' said to me, "Hey Ken, why don't you ride my new wing"? So I said sure (I'll ride ANY bike that someone will let me). They were all stopped at a rest stop and waited while I took my first ride on a Goldwing (normally I wouldn't share this with you guys:bang: ) for fear of getting drummed out of here, but now with Gas's thread it seems appropriate. I take off on this thing and its like being in a cockpit of a jet with very little noise and before I know it I look down at 100 mph! and ride it for about 20 miles. Anyway, kinda cool (but really not my style). And then one of the members got excited about selling me one SO I'D LOOK LIKE THEM(he had money and just happened to own 2! and wanted to sell one). (We went over to his house and looked at it and all its "bells and whistles" and considered it FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS)!

But my point is that these bikes REALLY WORK for this club and their long rides and they fix them up and add parts and think they are just as cool as HD and Big Dog owners.

SO GAS, Do what YOU want! (personally I think you should go for the "black vespa and a pink one for the wife. They are even going to throw in a set of matching cow print assless chaps".

All this talk about ass-less chaps. Aren't ALL chaps ass-less???? :D
Ya, but I think we are talking about with no pants (Like the guy I saw in '99 at the 4 Corners rally in Durango, CO who was dressed up like Prince, with chaps, NO PANTS (just a jock-strap type thong) and a pink feather boa scarf).

Now THAT was one SCARY (but I guess gutsy) dude.

Yet another image that will require years of therapy to get out of my brain.:D

Another round please
Just alittle to much detail for me Shovel. Your memory really has that one engraved in your head for some reason. I am going to hit my back button and forget I ever read that post.

That would be a hell of a joke wouldn't it!

Good story for the most part Shovel. To me a wing is way old man. Even though I can appreciate how well they do what they do.

Vegas... I had a few issues but when you add in all the issues you CONSTANTLY read about... it just makes me unsettled.

V... thanks man. I knew I could count on you guys for the "grab wallet, turn over, empty" procedure!

It goes both ways though and I've had both. Put a 65 horsepower rubber mounted motor in your chopper and I'll bet it won't give you any more problems. Put a 100 plus horsepower motor in that dresser and let me know how much time you have to spend tweaking shit.
